Responding to issues regarding dev server reports 13.12.2023

Honestly I doubt the early Leclercs will get an armour improvement. Gaijin are basing it off the Swedish trials, and it seems unlikely that secondary sources will overrule that.

Britain also evaluated the Leclerc as part of the Chieftain replacement programme and concluded that the turret armour fell “well short” of the minimum KE protection requirement (500 mm RHAe). According to the report GIAT were told that the turret armour was inadequate and responded with their proposal for an up-armoured turret, but even the new turret only offered 430 mm KE protection over the frontal arc.

According to a later report GIAT accepted that their new turret design still fell short of the UK requirement and proposed “a joint development programme with a UK manufacturer to fit UK armour blocks to the LECLERC turret”, but after evaluating the design Britain concluded that meeting the 500 mm KE protection requirement “would not be possible without a major redesign of the turret”, which would delay introduction to service by several years.

The Leclerc was therefore excluded from the UK competition on grounds of it’s turret protection being inadequate.

lol This is a lie.
Only Russians would think what you just said.

That’s because they’re not considering anything regarding the Leclerc & Ariete lol.
Leclerc is the best MBT in the game after all, it doesn’t deserve a buff

What about this bug report?: [DEV] Leopard 2A7V incorrect acceleration
It has no reaction on it yet sadly…

There was another thing that said GBU CCRP should be fixed now

Very interesting, do you possibly have the article on that?

Spanish forgort to mention the Type 10 and Ariete but thats ok, its hard to remember all the issues at once 💀

Also we didnt get the SWIP either. Fingers crossed its TT dear god

If the entire A6 airframe is locked behind paywall or event im gonna lose it

I havent had a chance to test it, but will shortly, see if anything has actually changed or not.

Tested it. They half fixed it. You can now select the “bomb (Auto)” sight mode without having an unguided bomb. But you still have to manually release the weapon, it wont auto release.

It’s not from an article, it’s from documents I read in the National Archives. This is one of them:

Super interesting. This is from the 90s though. Maybe the French figured it out?

The best proposal GIAT could come up with in 1990 was 430 mm KE. And a separate 1991 paper states that after reviewing the design Britain’s view is that 500 mm KE wouldn’t be possible without a major redesign of the turret. So I would be very surprised if in the space of a few years GIAT managed to boost the KE protection to 700+ mm like the report claims, while keeping the turret design essentially unchanged from that seen in the Swedish trials.

Maybe armour technology had moved on by the time later Leclercs came about, but for the early models I doubt armour protection was much better than that described in the British and Swedish evaluations.

I hate to bother you like this but these vague response really come off as placating rather then actually addressing concerns. A response shouldn’t be that hard to give, unless what you are trying to do is figure out a way to say go pound sand without receiving backlash?

@Smin1080p so this is Q&A:

1st question
At time of really efficient missiles, why none of the aircrafts over 11.7 BR don’t have access to Chaffs while being stock?
Because:
R-27ER or AIM-7M are really efficient to kill anyone, even when flying as close as 10m over the ground impossible to dodge.
Therefore the 10 free repairs are mostly spent dieing until we reached Flares/chaff modification

2nd question
Why don’t we still have Flare/chaffs selector?
It is pretty obvious that this should be implemented ASAP,… and it’s not even that hard as we just have to set 3 keybinds, which would work as the current one.
→ Flare
→ Chaff
→ Emergency release[which is the current]

Oh yeah, I meant long term haha. Like today.

Im sure theyve advanced their composites to give atleast 750+ KE

@Smin1080p I would like to know, when we talk about later discussion here, we mean how long will there be news? The information is very clear, M1A2 is DU armor, hope to see the relevant news as soon as possible

so the L2A7V’s hull front is not going to fix?

I’ve honestly given up on US tanks because of how the Abrams tanks have been treated since the M1IP
