IR hammers are actually good because of the arching trajectory, you can’t shoot them down as effectively as Kh, but the time to target is higher so it’s easier to smoke.
Good thing Pantsirs don’t get smoke grenades…
Which ones are the Hammers? AARM 250 (SBU 64)?
From what I remember, yes.
Then call them that. Not everyone knows the nicknames of everything.
Not everyone knows the actual name of them either.
I think you can agree that it’s easier to say 3.7 Puma than Sd.Kfz. 234, or Jumbo 76 instead of M4A3E2 (76W).
Same with bullpups, mavericks, and skipper (who casually calls them AGM-12s / AGM-65s / AGM-123s???).
Don’t forget the Armata gets Vaccum 1 which is far better round than previous Russian ammo,
This just proves to me you know absolutely nothing about the T-14 Armata
The armored capsule of the Armata is 800mm+ RHA frontally, and I believe 500 on the sides. The turret area is the least armored, and made light incase of ammo cookoff, it’ll just blow the turret off and save the crew, it also has some form of floor blow out panel.
They finally gave the Armata a transmission upgrade over previous tanks.
It’s overhauled gun can tank better projectiles and even be upgraded to a 152mm.
It has an auto matic APS that detects lases and rounds being fired directly at it. It won’t totally stop APFSDS, but was rumored to degrade APFSDS by 60%
Relict was mounted all over frontally and on the sides for greater protection.
Nor was the Armata canceled. Yes it’s being produced in very minimal numbers as it isn’t the priority, but they have about 60+~ of them now.
I do call them that because it’s easier on people who play this game for fun instead of LARPing being a part of the military. Hence why I don’t say Fox 3s (an inherit American specification), I call them AIM 120s, MICAs, R-77, etc. It is better to be specific on what you are talking about instead of using nicknames that makes zero sense to anyone who doesn’t indulge in the military.
then why is not in service?
A lot of the time they are a complete mouthful and can be expressed more simply with their nicknames.
If most people understand what you’re talking about, then there isn’t any issue.
There’s no point in saying the full / actual names of weaponry / vehicles unless the person you’re talking to doesn’t know them.
NATO brevity code for ARH missiles not an “inherent American specification.”
It is in service?
Hence the reason they are actively producing it.
The massive issue with sending it to the frontline is between its cost and production time. The thing isnt some uber weapon, but it certainly isnt a bad tank by all standards.
NATO brevity code for ARH missiles? what ? xD
Yes what is so hard to understand?
Except it is still exclusive to English speakers. Last I checked, Russians and Chinese pilots are not saying “Fox 3s going out”, especially since they do not speak English, nor do they use the same phonetic alphabet as NATO.
This is absurdly off-topic. The fact of the matter is enough people know what Fox-3 means and Gaijin named the development news after it so there is no misunderstanding of what it is.
If you are still struggling to understand my dms are open.
Or just stop using weird nicknames to sound cool? Everyone can read what AGM 65Ds are, not everyone knows what weird nickname Maverick means.
To be fair a NATO brevity name while widely known isnt known to all.
Fox 3’s is easily understood for most , but hammars isnt
Then lets stop it here :D
