I don’t have a problem with laid down ships, I have a problem that it was added unrealisticly. It should have only rolled homogeneous armor, tnt filler should be cut in half, and ammo storage should be way bigger.

Yes, but the Soviet Union was not able to make cemented armor that thick, the ammos tnt filler doesn’t make sense, and ammo storage is physically impossible. If that gets fixed it shouldn’t be problem.
That said, wouldn’t Amagi fly in the face of that, since she’s again modeled on the 1919 Preliminary drawings rather than the finalized design that was laid down? She also, for whatever reason, is modeled with turrets from the 1930s and has a floatplane not present in any of the designs. All of this has been reported in an effort to help fix the model, but all the reports keep getting “She’s based on 1919 drawings” responses and are labeled “not a bug”.
Being laid down is the minimum requirement to be considered for the game. It doesn’t dictate configuration.

Right, I do understand that the minimum requirement is to be laid down. But why model her on preliminary drawings instead of the official finalized design showing how the ship was intended to be built?

In my opinion, we shouldn’t tolerate paper vehicles staying in research, it opens the precedent for any sketch of an field engineer with enough Pervitin in their system to bump start a nuclear reactor to be added to the game as if was a real thing.

This can be for a number of reasons. A spesific configuration may be chosen to suit a role, BR gap or tree position.

One word: Balance. The Maus is either a autowin machine or a XP piñata, even at 7.7 you can feel the gameplay diference in a uptier vs downtier. This makes for a frustating experience for the players and if the win rate of the tank goes down, then it opens the door for a BR decrease, people are crying for the early tiger 2 at 6.3, image the outrage of a maus at 7.0 or even 6.7.
But it was a real tank indeed, and a very loved one at that, this is why gaijin makes it avalable for research once a year and literally everyone is able to get it.
Read (if you know how to) the book instead of just looking at the pictures at the second page

Yes, I do understand that part; that fit is, of course, at the developer’s discretion. I’m just a tad confused here. As I’ve stated, when the ship was laid down, it was to a different configuration than what we have modeled. The 1919 Preliminary drawings ceased to be Amagi as they were dropped because the finalized design was ready. So, in effect, the configuration we have in-game is (mostly) a preliminary design for the hull that eventually became Amagi, ergo a paper design and not representative of what was laid down. Additionally, why model the ship with anachronistic details like the Seaplane Catapult, the Mid-1930s refit turrets, and the 1930s 120mm guns that were never present in any of the designs?
For reference, this is the finalized version of Amagi.
That said, though, if only being laid down matters, is there a chance we could see some more Preliminary design variant ships added to the game? And in that sense, could we ever get a finalized version of an Amagi-class in-game?
I wonder if Ho-Ri Prototype would return from time to time in the same way as Bf-109Z-1 for example.
BR decompression would fix this easily but gaijin has no idea what they are doing with tank BR placement because they are going off of player statistics instead of stats (mobility, penetration, post penetration damage, fire/reload rate, armor, additional gadgets) and the weight of those stats
which is why american and german heavy tanks are so low in br and premiums are slow to go up.
it is also why minor nation tanks (especially bad for britain, japan and france)keep going up in BR since those are usually players that start a second or even third tree and have much more experience and play better with worse tanks than new players on good tanks (russia/america/germany)
in the case of the tiger 2 i would advocate for the tiger2p to stay in 6.7 and the tiger2h to go to 7.0 in the current state of the game, the panzer 4s all getting a reload buff also seems insane to me.

And the Ho 229 could never have had HVAP belts because tungsten was really really hard to get.

And I have a problem with Gaijin removing the Ho-Ri without giving suitable replacements. Type 75 and Type 99s are not suitable replacements. Ho-Ri, in terms of gameplay, was a very good vehicle because it was an aggressive platform to use.
99 and 75 cannot be used as Aggressive platforms cause if they expose themselves at all, their entire crew is A: dead or B: Dead after the guy reloads.
People have given years of Japanese suggestions for tanks and such, and nearly none of them get added despite being past.

Simple solution to this is for Gaijin to look at the C&P vehicles around different BRs and compare stats, that would provide some base line for the average skill of different nations players.
Yes, but I think there is also a degree of money involved in that, not just in Gaijin wanting to make it, but people understandably get upset when they pay so much money and it gets up tiered.
Alright, so with the Ho Ri being removed for valid reasons, surely we can see the intended version(s) of the Ho Ri come into the game with all this new information that has come to light, right? Would be really nice to see a new version(s) of the Ho Ri come in so that it can be historically represented.
