S and A, locks up. You literally have to stop to 0, and then turn in. Horrible.

You’re on CC Max…you’re supposed to drop down to CC1 before u make the turn so the vehicle slows down…
It’s almost like tanks need to slow down to make turns and not turn on a dime like a car…
Brother, is it really hard to relearn how to use a tank again? Or are you going to apply every ability of driving the same to every tank?
Even if WT mobility is heavily exaggerated, this is an arcade game.
Yes, this is exactly how tanks DONT manuever IRL. I am speaking purely from real military driving experience here.
It’s the same logic as driving a car, you don’t suddenly make a sharp 90° turn while going down a street at 50kph, you’re supposed to slow to below 30kph.
I understand there is a risk of throwing tracks but this is simply too much.
I spent driving across Poland for 6 minutes. That turn would have been perfectly viable if you had set CC1 a few meters before the turn.
I am the first one who said that it could be polished in Leopard’s case for tighter turns at lower speeds, but pretending that this turn was impossible is too much.
Like I said earlier:
Don’t forget to turn on your turn signal as well. I see so many players forget this important part.
It’s not even the risk of throwing tracks, it is a physical limitation of the transmission system and how it works IRL…
Thanks I’ll remember to turn on my rearlights too so everyone can see me slow down.
You know what. Ditch the realism, I am simply not educated enough to contend your points due to my lack of experience with tanks and how they function IRL. From a gameplay standpoint, regen steering as-is is one of the worst changes i’ve ever seen. You shouldnt be forced to drive with just CC controls, plus WASD is useless to make turns now.
Very realistic.
Maybe STOP TRYING TO DRIVE THE 60 TON TANK ZOOMING AROUND 90º STREET TURNS AT 70 KM/H?
It’s not a Kart… it’s a TANK.
And yes, it’s realistic. What you show in your video is LITERALLY what happened to these guys who tried to pull a 90º turn at such speed and coming across an obstacle.
This isn’t a driving simulator. I shouldnt be fumbling with about 6 keys to turn a corner while actively trying to you know… shoot other people…
While WT mobility isn’t realistic, I reiterate that this is an ARCADE GAME.
And it’s not Call of Duty either.
Ah, the “arcade” card.
Because War Thunder hasn’t been known to strive towards vehicle modelling realism for 14 years now, not at all.
Do you REALLY have a problem with this?
you do realise this is a video game and it doesnt have to be ultra realistic should we also need to refuel and have no 3rd person??
Type 10 is not exactly a good comparison cuz this thing actually can still turn quite hard at higher speeds compared to the heavier 2A6EX/7V
It is more close to CoD than it is something like GHPC. Tanks that are unrealistic in every aspect fighting on cqc maps against nations theyre allied with.
And no, I don’t like big maps like Fields of Poland. They are utter garbage for the game.
Realism is a fantasy advertising tale in War Thunder.
While regen steering could be good for the game, I oppose people like AquaUselessGod who want it as an un-toggleable feature.
And yes, I did read that you would agree with the above sentence.
That’s why I’ve been suggesting for a while that an interesting compromise would be to make tanks turn more like Type 10 at lower speeds, and Leopard 2 at higher speeds;
Gosh can I get refueling too? /s
You don’t seem to understand that regenerative steering has way more positives than negatives, and the negatives are really just about relearning how to drive. Is learning a genuine problem with u ppl?
Basically, I want as many people to be happy with regenerative steering as possible, in order for its implementation NOT to be sabotaged by unhappy people.
Whether it takes changes, polishing or a toggle is secondary to me.
I think it MUST come, and, for that, it must be the best possible feature for everyone. Anything, ANYTHING BUT CANCELLING IT.
Fair enough. I just don’t want our current mobility changed or removed. Any add-on feature as long as its optional is fine to me.
