Hello everyone. Today, i will be suggesting the “Griffin” decal which was introduced by PAF’s No. 9 Squadron in the late 1940s for use on their aircrafts.
The griffin in the decal symbolizes courage, leadership and strength as the 9th squadron was the first fighter squadron of the Royal Pakistan Air Force. It took active part in conflicts like the Faqir of Ipi rebellion (which Pakistan inherited from the British Raj) and the Bajaur Campaign in the 1960s during which they flew several ground attack sorties.

Historically speaking, the Sea Furies mainly took part in Ground Attack missions so in my opinion:
- A player can unlock this once he has scored about 150-250 ground kills with the ingame Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 (although RPAF had Sea Furies FB.60s). If historical accuracy is preferred then the Hawker Tempest Mk.2 can also be used for the scoring as the squadron did operate them.
If the camouflaged variant can be added (explained in the “Other Versions” Section) then:
- A player can obtain it through the F-16A after scoring about 300 kills against Su-17s, Su-22s, Su-25s, Mig-21s and Mig-23s as historically they shot down some during the Soviet-Afghan war.
