Sweden lacks a 5.x aircraft, and I won’t find myself complaining about danish planes/tanks. Add as TT vehicle. +1
+1, would be very fine addition to fill the gaps in Swedish air TT.
However, did Danes have bomb racks on these Spitfires? British one has a fuselage hardpoint for 250-500 lbs bombs, and I wouldn’t mind a single bomb for some CAS for ground battles.
The P.R. Mk XI, was an unarmed variant of the Spitfire, just for photo recon.
I couldn’t find any concrete evidence (photos) of the Danish Spitfires having been equipped with bombs.
However, in A.P. 1565J, Pilot’s notes for Spitfire IX, XI & XVI. The Spitfire H.F. Mk IX(e) is mentioned, and later in the same manual, it notes flying limitations for the planes with bombs equipped. That would lead me to assume the H.F. Mk IX would also be able to equip bombs.
Were spitfires well known for being kinda easy to tip? Or was it just the XIe die to the newer engine, i found a book that mentions it and a few other spits operated by us. I did a short summary here. I soubt it has any info your missing but i figured id share it for peeps who are curious and wanted a short summary who cant read Danish.
