Ray Tracing in War Thunder!

I am getting so many mixed opinions over here hahah

My monitor is 1080p indeed. If final performance is like Dev Server’s, I won’t be able to run Ray Tracing (40FPS is unplayable)… but as long as it’s always >60FPS, I would run it!

I know the dev server is WIP and subject to change, so I hope my extremely poor performance there was because of this and the final build will perform much better.

Everyone states that they ran DX12 better than DX11… and I am so confused, because, on the dev server, my FPS dropped from 170ish to 80ish just by switching from DX11 to DX12, hahah (and from 80 to 40 by enabling Ray Tracing). So I don’t even know anymore.

I got a 3080 GPU, Ryzen 9 3950x CPU and 64 gigs of RAM. What are my chances?

It was a joke 💀💀💀

“You’re telling me my finely tuned console made to play a game at one specific graphic spec can’t utilize a very in-depth graphical technique that self-contained systems can?? Preposterous!!1!”

A 3060 with 16gb RAM? You’ll be struggling quite a bit if not running 1080p at maximum

To make it look good? Yeah, that’s the point… You won’t get a visually lifelike game with a graphics card built in what is relatively considered the space age of GPUs

Yeah, my monitor is 1080 and I don’t use SSAA or anything, so I run at 1080.

You should be good then, as long as you aren’t running at hardware-munching max settings

Oh, yay!

Right now, I have 150 FPS on average in Ground Battles with everything on ultra (except for SSAA, which I don’t use), so I hope I won’t drop below 60 FPS…

Seing my FPS drop from 150+ to 35-40 on the Dev Server was absolutely heartbreaking, hahah.

You should find your game around 50-60. I typically run around 220-240 and enabling it dropped me down to 80fps. I’m on 1440/16:9 atm.

Holy Jesus, so I’m not alone here…

I mean, I knew such a big graphical improvement would come at the cost of performance, but I expected a drop of maybe 30-50 FPS, not literally +100…

So- fingers crossed hoping it was just the Dev Server being a very early unoptimised WIP build, hahah.

Could you please tell us which of these features will be available for PS4, PS5 and PS5 Pro?

Think an RX 6600 would do well with Ray Tracing?

Fantastic! Amazing! I ´ve waited a long time for the next Engine Update and the Level of Detail defines War Thunder and adds to its Uniqueness :)

On the RX7900XTX maxed out everything I saw a Decrease from 100FPS to 30FPS @ UWQHD xD.
Now its on Mr Leatherjacket to Release me a new RTX 5080. A Reason to Upgrade yeay xD

AFAIK WT used only one thread until now. Does that mean regular performance will now be better with multithreading, or we get multithreading only for BVH?

What about DLSS. Which version we getting with the update? The current version is not good, it has too much ghosting and blur.

Lastly, what about drivers. Which version of nvidia drivers should I get (RTX 4070) to have as stable performance once we get the update?

I would really like a response from the devs on all 3 questions. Thanks o7

Ok, this further reinforces my theory that the Dev Server was just an extremely unoptimised and unstable build still xD

30 FPS with a 1,000€ 24GB GPU can not be normal.

It has no chance in hell of being supported on a PlayStation 4 it lack la ray tracing capability and it uses tech biology from before 2013. PS5 the PS5 pro will support it they said so in the devblog

Hi, the Dev was already openend before.

Not sure, this AMD GPU is great but Raytracing wise not so strong…
