Until the update two days ago. I was hitting the enemy R73 from the back or side with the su-39 from a distance of 3 km, and it always hit. The enemy could lose it only if he hits a flare or several flares in a row and changes its direction and does not flare again.
If he flared again, the missile would recognize that it was a flare and lock on the enemy, and no matter what he did, the missile would not let him go.
did not happen performs same as before
we have datamines for a reason
there is your mistake, dont play a SU-39 in arb
Get better at launching the R-73s, nothing has changed on War Thunder’s end.
I have played almost 700 matches with su-39 and after this much experience when I am again in a position where I used to shoot rockets and it always hits and now I shoot and the enemy does the same thing as before and now the rocket misses and doesn’t hit I understand that there is a change in R73.
Well I have been grinding for the IAR-93B with the Mig-29smt and su-25sm3 and I haven’t noticed any changes maybe its just me.
I don’t know bro maybe it’s just me have this feeling but I highly believe that there has been a change.
The missiles file data is the exact same as before, literally zero things have changed
nup just a skill issue change on your hand then
there literaly have been no changes, you just are picking your shots worse or your enemies are smarter and flare enough / pull enough
Damn i wanna get the R73 people in this thread seem to have, cuz so far 9M is miles ahead in its IRCCM and no smoke motor. Doesnt pull?? just properly aim your missile and it hits 99% of the time.
By saying it doesn’t pull nearly enough, i’m comparing it to the R-73. You can pull some insane BS with the R-73 and it always gets a good laugh out of me. After all, games are for fun
I still need to figure out just how close i need to get for the r73’s IRCCM to work. Yesterday, i fired one from 1.5km out behind a jet. He turned, flared, and the r73 lost lock.
I agree and I don’t want to compare WT to DCS but I have to say that at least in DCS even the early r-73’s are quite scary and require proper flaring and engine cut vs WT where you need to get within high-fiving distance for it to not be one flared. The other problem is r-73’s are dog fighting missiles in a meta where the aim-9M is invisible so forcing a dogfight can be difficult especially in sim if you don’t know what your about to merge with and don’t pre flare. Su-27sm at least lets you know if it’s an aim-9M launcher because of its rwr but at the same time you get so little CM’s that you have to limit your pre flaring or else you’ll be out by the second merge

Are you trying to say it’s just better than the 9M? Because I’d say the opposite in most circumstances…
Your opinion will hardly be considered valuable due to your nickname
Issue you’ll have arguing with yanks is if their missile doesn’t pull twice the overload of the thrust vectoring missiles, they’ll call it bad. In spite of the fact that it pulls entirely good enough for most launches, has flare rejection that actually works, and is smokeless.
73 barely works in most launch aspects, can be 1 tap flared even at point blank, and doesn’t pull remotely enough to use effectively in a dogfight on account of the issues with thrust vectoring in general. But they’ll still claim that 9M is worse. The only time 73 is better is when fighting Americans, funnily enough, given their insistence on keeping their afterburner going whilst flaring.
What’s wrong with my nickname? You thinking it has anything to do with the current discussion is a flaw on your behalf.
And now you exaggerate in the other direction, I don’t agree it’s that bad either.
