At this moment, magic 2s are far FAR superior, even if people say they have the same IRCCM and show you they in fact do, missile performance counts. Magic 2s will strike 99 percent of the time below 1km under any aspect, r73s will get FLARED away from a perfect rear aspect the moment the enemy launches a missile. Preflaring works against both, but r73 are weaker, mostly because they’re very slow and tend to see flares because of this while magics one can say they basically teleport into place.
