Whats wrong with your quote is that the IRCCM of the R-73/Magic 2 is the best at the moment + thrust vectoring missile, every missile is easy to flare if you know how to flare properly tho, but it is definitely way way better than a R-60

The 9M is better in side aspect, which is a lot easier to get in general when you use it to third party compared to the need to get an almost perfect rear launch with the R73.
R73 is good for very high off-bore launches but I really wouldn’t call it the best IRCCM, 9M is a lot more reliable in my experience.
Magic 2 seems to be more reliable to the R73 to me, but I think it’s because it’s much easier to get in position for a good 2km launch with the planes carrying the Magic 2.
Honestly it mostly comes down to the planes carrying them. I do wish the R73 had the 0.75° seeker from the acquisition however, so it would be harder to pre-flare.
Yeah cutting out and do a Rank Filter on the Stat Card will make you way more trustworthy.

And yes the R73 has TV but thats also a downside sometimes when missile Kills itself with the Death wobble
My take is Magic 2 > aim9m > r73
But take into account those are different missile types so the aim9m will hit things the r73 won’t and vice versa
Aim9m is worthless against su25 and similar aircraft because they can just drop flares and pull like no tomorrow so the aim9m will always miss
Unless the aim9m is launched from very far
Maybe that’s the biggest difference between the two
The r73 should be launched has close has possible while the aim9m works better at longer ranges (but that also increases the risk of finding blue targets along the Way)

Its because the Magic 2 accelerates way faster meaning it can close the distance faster and make use of the 0.75deg fov much more effectively.
Not the best way to gain experience with the 9M lol. Most of the enemies in the dev server are bots that don’t flare.

I Only count the normal players which Flare Not the Bots Cuz thats free Kills. Even you stated the Killrate Almost precise, the AIM-9M Did about 8/10 fired missiles Hit. That was better than any IR missile i used. (Another Time Only normal players because bots would be 10/10)
They did seemingly buff flares or nerf seekers ability to maintain lock a while back, but im more waiting on Matra R.550 Magic 2 getting the better IRCCM it seemingly should have over the R-73. Per sources on the bug report that gave it IRCCM it seemingly has a 4 element seeker over the 2 element one of the R-73.
But yes seekers in general should likely be better
They also nerfed flares a while back as well. Flares needing to ramp up in luminosity.

For our Observer distance we take the wingspan of a F-16 so 10m
Angle is 180- seeker fov/2 = result
Apply the Strange formula and you get the distance
So for the r27et the 2 degree search fov the seeker will cover the enemy plane at 280meters
For the fov gated r73 it’s 764 Meters but to actually lock the tailpipe of an F-16 the distance needs to come down all the way to 91 Meters
Or in other words the type 81 missile will Only see turbine blades before the r60 even sees the plane properly

I looked through our entire conversation and there was some weird implication that the R-60 was better than the R-73 and we went through that, I than was admittedly wrong about the on the rail FOV of the R-73.
I don’t really understand what you’re trying to tell me here, I’m aware of how the missile seeker views aircraft and the math required to derive that.
