Not the point. The R-73 is gimped on it’s max G pull abilities in contrary to IRL abilities and in range because it oscillates like crazy making it lose lots of energy
still it flies further and faster than aim9m

Huh? Since when did R-73 outrange AIM-9M? You can comfortably use that missile up to 6km while the R-73 is just straight up a lucky shot beyond 3km

What in the missile spreadsheet tells you it’s the best IR missile? The PL-8B and Magic II have the same exact seeker, both of which have a better range and aerodynamic performance than the R-73. The only advantage it has is TVC, you trade its kinematic performance for that. You can easily argue that stand-off range and acceleration is more important than TVC.

I disagree, tvc is a very usefull niche. Range is usefull but i got other missiles for that, r73 allos you to sneak in shots you cant with anything else other than a mica.
Yeah I agree it’s useful, it has a different play style and use case, but I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s objectively better than the others. I would not say it’s OP or unbalanced especially considering the wet toilet paper flight model it’s mounted on.
Statcard overload is meaningless, and often is wrong.

Doubtful, since the missile has to be going fast to pull high G, if it had to pull high G then it would have just used TVC and destroyed its speed.
Aero missiles like 9M331 or AMRAAM do hit the limit, TVC doesn’t since they don’t build speed when maneuvering.
I’d be more surprised if maneuvering actually builds speed lol
