yea its alr been acknowledge but 2 years ago…
This is horribly agonizing.
I’m very desperate for literally ANY BUFF.
Here we go, still nothing but the Classified T90M is doing well at least…
This is a report on the second Lebanon war that was written by the Idf head of the Israeli history department
Yad lashiryon second Lebanon war
As you can see he states that merkava tanks can take a hit from kornet atgms and tank near minimal damage ( as stated that out of seven merkavas that where hit only 2 needed to be taken back for repairs)
A quick question if you don’t mind, i really like the Merkava and i want to grind for it, is it worth it with these problems and bad modeling?
Even with the problems it’s a solid mbt . It has a good gun with a good apfsds shell solid mobility the turret has good chemical protection and the tank has an aps which is really good. Overall the merkava is a good tank and I think it’s worth grinding
captainistaken is right, its still a good mbt with those aps, apfsds and the mobility. also the smokelauncher is something special but u gonna use it a lot. If you play smart and use the smokelauncher combined with its mobility inside citys it can be fun a while but the bigges problem is its size compared with the broken armor.
The turret allone is almost as big as a whole T80.
This huge silhouette is easy to hit and 90% of the hits that do not kill you outright crippels you tank via barrel broken, gun manteled broken, at least 2 crewmembers wounded/dead.
So in reality this size compensates for a huge amount of armor as u can see in the weight that is 20T higher than the tank we have in game.
I stopped playing israel like 1 year just because it makes you wanna smash ur screen when you have almost every match the disadvantag: even if you shoot first and do not kill instantly you are dead! eaither one shotted or 2 shotted. Almost every single shot to your turret doing at least damage that makes you defenseless. either crew is out or you cannon is broken in many ways. Oh and every shot below the turret kills almost ever 3 crewmembers so instakill you…that tank is broken. i realy loved the grind for it and i was so happy when i unlocked it but after spading abd acing the crew i had enough playtime to figure how broken it is. I play now japan and TKX can eat more shells which is not logical in my oponion…
Thanks man
It’s true that gaijin did the merkava dirty. But personally I would still stick with the tech tree because of the historical significance and because I’m Israeli (so logically I want to play my country)
A little late to response but after reading all of this i decided i wont grind Israel, the turret and hull armor is just straight up plastic, but honestly the Merkava MK.4M i beautiful with that crazy turret, maybe i would grind the whole tech tree if they get a fix and buff the armor.
Also i feel you its literally the same with the Abrams (M1A2-SEP-SEPV2)
Thanks for the explanation!
Merkava being twice the size of a T80 but having less armor than a t72 is straight BS.
Have you ever seen the insides of a Merkava vs a T-72? Its minivan vs sports car.
When looking at the angled penetration of many darts in the game, they don’t look like they could possibly penetrate such thick angled armour, but almost any dart with decent penetration can cut right through it.
He means it’s plastic in-game cause the protection doesn’t stop 10.0
I know I just couldn’t resist that pic.
The Merkava et. al. armor is optimized against HEAT and older APFSDS. So its not a surprise that it can’t defeat top shelf darts that it is exposed to in game it would never see IRL. Should it? Probably since Gaijin puts them up there.
I seriously doubt the Merkava’s front plate was designed to only resist older APFSDS when Hezbollah and Iran still have modern munitions.
You missed the part about HEAT. Hezbollah doesn’t rock many tanks, but they do have a lot of Kornets.
Both Hezbollah and Iran have large stockpiles of old shells and munitions in addition to more modern options. The Merkava is designed to deal with both the old and the new
While true, there’s no way Israel designed their front plate that way. The tank is 80 tons…
