That is just historically accurate.
The US is well know for paywalling their army.
That is why they could buy several millions of War Thunder F 18 Aircraft in game.
The real world equivalent is just better at paywalling them which is the only reason why we do not have a million F 18 in Service.
It is Gaijins duty to emulate this kind of paywalling at its minimum.

Their bug report mods have actively lied about AIM-7P compatibility, and the bug report for fixing the F-14D so it isn’t carrying a physically impossible AIM-54 variant only just got accepted…
And we still have the lead microtransaction shop dev telling customers and players alike that he’s not out of touch, they’re just wrong.
You got only 1600 In SU30 pre. But I got over 3000 kill in F-14B and F-14 A I got 2800 kill. WOW you think you play it better then
