the R Class doesnt really have that Great an AA defence, They were barely refitted inter and During the war
What we need for good AA is a WW2 Refit QE, Like the Queen Elizabeth with the 20x 4.5 inch armament also seen on the Renown all with Proxy, and also more normal AA guns but eh

Also, even if a (minor) config change occurred, the devs have and will continue to be able to change weapon arraignments rather quickly, so 2 less 20mms or something of the sort wouldn’t be a massive change.

To be fair it would be a classic gaijin maneuver to not research it in the slightest, give the russian one a magical buff over the standard, and then add a nerfed version to the british tree in an event 6 months later.
