That is true. The main problem with Russian tanks tho is the hit box on the auto loader module I feel. But still a quick buff by adding 3bm59 would still make them slightly more competitive in the big 25

Strange, one reason why I don’t think Russia has better rounds is probs the same reason America doesn’t have the a4 lmao. Or Germany doesn’t have the dm73. It’s to early. But in the mean time 3bm59 would still keep it fresh and give Russia a small buff in top tier pen and post pen damage

Russian tanks arent underperforming because of a lack of fire power. They under perform due to absolutely abysmal mobility, gun handling, and gun depression. We have tanks at 12.0 with 4km reverse. BVM is the only tank that feels like it keeps up with any other nation after the t55amd/t62. And youll still end up dealing with 5 degrees of gun depression limiting where it can be played.

I also dont understand the fixation on rounds at this tier, maybe I dont get it but what exactly does 3bm60 or a better round afford you over 3mb42?
3mb42 is going to have no problems penning lfp or breach or any weakspot you should be aiming for, unless post pen damage and spalling is significantly different?
I dont think a better round is going to change anything from a gameplay perspective unless its so powerful it starts cleaving through turret cheeks.
I can see better rounds helping when you are fighting at like 1km+ shots and cant really aim for weakspots but warthunder map design is not going in that direction.

Russian tanks are hard to appreciate until you play them, its easy to call them OP because when you die to them you just see the tanks armor, low profile and smaller weakspots, but don’t get any sense of the awful mobility, gun handling, depression cucking you every match, etc. That player deals with.

That’s how they’re in real life, its called poor Engineering but they’re still better than most nations with overperforming ERA that eats Mavericks for dinner, let’s not forget that Russia gets the best lineup in GRB out of all nations.
I’ve seen countless players in this forum that tend to make Russia look weak but its literally the opposite.

Ok but the game isnt real life and uses a BR system, and mobility and gun handling are big factors in how well a tank performs in game.
I dont think how well a tank survives CAS is taken into account for placement, and ya russian CAS is overperforming atm massively, but we are speaking on ground vehicles.
And best grb lineup? What at 13.0 only? And only because of the planes, def not the ground vics.

The only way they’ll get better darts is with implementation of vehicles that aren’t (and most likely never will) be in active production. The issue you describe is one the real Russian MOD faces because of the tank design they have chosen to embrace.
The only way I could see Russia getting better rounds is with the implementation of these non-production vehicles like the Armata (14 tanks produced is not mass production) or borderline paper vehicles like the Black Eagle or T-95 – don’t get me wrong, as someone who plays Russia I’d love to get these vehicles in-game; but the truth is the current tanks? The best round we will always be stuck with is 3BM60.

Aside from the 3bm59 they dont have anything better the their 125, the only option would be new vehicles more powerful gun like the 90s prototypes with the 152 and maybe the object 187
