Could do a way healthier, better thing and have F-14D(R) and F-14D be the premium/TT equivalents with 9M/7P/54C+, then F-14A-65-GR as a squadron vehicle with AMRAAMs.
That way, the AMRAAM wanters get their F-14 and the actual F-14D appreciators get their F-14D.
At the very least, they should add the AIM-9/AIM-7P on the F-14D. As for a tech tree version, armament should inclued AIM-9/AIM-7P/AIM-54C+.
Do that, and I’ll be fine, but I won’t be surprised if I face any premium Su-30MK2. (even if both F-14’s are still 13.0)

Oh I don’t want the AMRAAMs on the f14A I want in the f14D the only variant that was supposed to use aim120A(well also f14C but plane was cancelled)
f14D(r) should be with “historical load out” and F14D-170-gr should be the one to carry aim120A
Given there’s already an F-14 that actually launched AMRAAMs and it’s the A-65-GR, I doubt Gaijin would go to the effort of adding a third F-14D that’s AMRAAM-capable :/
Theirs no reason to add the f14A w/amraams plus I have enough sources too prove the f14D should come to the game with AMRAAMs take a look your self Should the F14D get AMRAAMS?

I mean that’s my main issue with preordering such pack. Sole fact that D-version is given without D-version weaponry is a huge turnoff especially in quite competitive environment of a BR bracket around. I mean if F-14D is an upgrade, why to make it to the half at this point?

Same thing I felt when JA37D was being added without AIM-120. Thats like adding F-14 without any AIM-54’s
I would love for the F-14D to get the AIM-120s,but i think Gaijin did something right this time by not adding those.
The F-14D was intended to carry AIM-120s since their compatibility with the upgraded radar and avionics was something pretty known (we know they tested the firing of a 120 with either an A or A+ model).
Realistically,tho,they never fielded those because the budget allocated could either go to the AMRAAAM implementation or the LANTIRN implementation,and the Navy chose the latter due to the fact the Hornet (and then Super Hornet) became the designated FAD and CAP jet for the USN.
Granted, the F-14D must receive both the AIM-9M and AIM-7P for two reasons:

I would like to remind you that theirs already vehicles with planned armament in game and the f14D w/aim120A should more than be able to come into game the f14A-65-gr could only carry and fire the missiles the f14D/apg71 had everything it needed before finding cuts than the apg71 needed a software update that was supposed to come with already but like I said funding cuts literally the only thing it needed was a software update to the radar
You still need an image of AIM-120 hanged on F-14D.

Their is no difference between the f14A sparrow pylons and the f14D other than one is analog and the other is digital because as we should all know aim120 needed to fit in sparrow pylons so theirs no need for the navy to put a amraam on the f14D for things they already know

Anyway, to be fair the whole talk of 120s wouldn’t exist at this point …IF THEY JUST MADE REALISTIC AIM-54s and its variants.
But trashijin for some reason is biased against F-14s. So i’ll be biased against them in every round.
If i convince even 1 person that the snail doesn’t deserve cabbage it’s a win.

It could shoot R-73 , with the only problem not radar slaving. It couldn’t shoot 27. And to be fair EVERYONE would agree that in that vehicle they would want R-73 or the All aspect Fatter missile.

After going though info i have found i think the F-14D should come with AIM-9M AIM-54C+(Better seeker) and AIM-7P (AIM-7MH mode)
