Adding AIM-9L without any BR change would just be powercreep to double down on compression instead of addressing the core issue of most other 12.3-13.3s being undertiered.

The F-14A is an unusual outlier here; it is the only 12.7 aircraft without access to an all-aspect air-to-air missile. Adding AIM-9Ls to it is really a nothingburger within the already compressed 12.3-13.3 BR range.

People typically run a loadout of six AIM-54As and two AIM-9Hs. Replacing those two AIM-9Hs with AIM-9Ls surely must be the earth-shattering balance change, right?

While I recognize that this BR range suffers from serious compression issues, decompression is a broader systemic change that is very unlikely to be addressed through a dev server. That discussion should belong in the BR change feedback.

Alternatively TCS could be added as an unlockable mod (at least when it’s given its proper functions and whatnot).

Back before stock Countermeasures were a thing, some planes wouldn’t have them on the model (like with the F-5A’s AN/ALE-40N bolt-on system) until you researched and applied the modification, so it could be do-able that way.
