[POLL] Bring back the old Eastern Europe map!

personally just keep one bridge for both sides

That makes a major chokepoint, easy to cut off and camp

The games map design and game-play has been going downhill fast with the recent map edits they have been doing .

Every single map edit they have done has made the game and game-play worse due to it, bring back the original versions of all the maps. Stop ruining maps by removing flanks or shrinking the overall size/play area of the map and making parts of the map unplayable just because morons in this game that do nothing but press W cant be bothered to understand basic strategy and check their flanks. MAP knowledge/sight lines is a important part of game-play and the devs seem to be dead set to make it irrelevant .

There is another reason most likely why the devs want to make the maps smaller, longer games where the matches are drawn out leads to more rewards for the player. Reducing the play area and closing of the map and making them into a corridor shooter where you can only press W no skill involved benefits them because it leads to shorter games, shorter games = less RP/lions which leads to the player having to spend more time playing the game due to lower rewards thanks to shorter games.

The map changes the devs have been doing is slowly ruining the game if you ask me .
What originally attracted me to the game and has kept me playing all these years were the big maps with many sightlines and avenues of approaching the match in order to win it . Yes there were a few spots that offered a big advantage for both teams on certain maps or needed very slight adjustments to protect spawn areas. But aside from a few maps/spots that needed to be addressed these points of power on the map forced both teams to fight for the advantageous spots on the map like you would in a real conflict. The various sight lines and variety in types of engagements you can have were part of the “map flow or gameplay” that aided in what made this games gameplay so fun.
I find myself spending less time playing this game with these idiotic map changes the devs are doing and im sure this is the case for many others. God forbid a light tank or light armored vehicle or even a heavy MBT can get to a advantageous spot on the map thanks to their map knowledge or committing to a successful flank of the enemy. God forbid players have to actually learn the maps and memorize the different paths on the map and the various lines of sight they should avoid or look out for.

Good job dumbing down your game devs and making it worse overall with these changes , yall clearly dont seem to understand what made this game so attractive to parts of the player-base.

Who is the moron that is deciding these map changes and thinks this is a good idea ? Do you guys play your own game at any BR ? It clearly shows you dont with these map edits/changes you have been doing recently that is ruining this game in my opinion. Every single map you guys have edited has been made worse in my opinion.

No amount of new vehicles or mechanics will help players enjoy the game when you are intentionally forcing frontal engagements with these shit map edits and limiting how a player can approach the battlefield/situation .

This change is mind boggling. I could never have imagined that they could come up with this.
Its already annoying that every single maps hills get covered in “red no go zones”, but this has to be peak catering to the player with the least braincells.

If I ever get this atrocity of a map (if you even can call this a map) i WILL press Alt+F4

Not entirely. There hasn’t been a single one that was universally positive, but there has been a few that made the map better. The main one being adding a second spawnpoint for each side on carpathians, which made the map better by reducing spawncamping and adding variety. However, they also removed an important flanking route when they did that, which detracts from the map.

Completely agree.

A could be easily placed in somewhere H6 and C on F5, in the middle of that trenches. Would be a good change and bring back the bridges.

Make Eastern Europe great again!

We need Gaijin officially explain their idea of changing map, why they just want creat such a small map, to encourage heavy tanks face to face? such kind of changing makes LTs pretty hard to play ( or just CAS, small map is always good for CAS like PE8)

Old maps should only be able to be changed if its actually needed. Say a map gives one team the ability to see directly into the enemy spawn within ~3s of match start, then a rework should be allowed.

Eastern Europe’s change was very unnecessary and hopefully will be reverted by the nect patch or update

I voted for “other.” Change is okay. Removing some flanks where they are OP is good. But Gaijin seems to be increasingly trying to force head on engagements instead of more tactical play. Eastern Europe is the worst example of this. They have completely demolished it and it is ridiculous.

Yeah. But some nations rely on flanks because they dont have armoured vehicles, instead they have lightly armoured vehicles because of their terrain, e.g. Japan, France, Italy, Sweden and thus rely on the flanks.

You cant pen a T-55 or a T-54 serie from the front with an autocannon, hell, sometimes not even from the side.

So removing those flanks only leave two options.
Face imminent death or leave before the match starts (which i see myself doing more often because these maps with head on engagements are not possible for the tanks i’m getting (since most minor nations are not getting as much content as the main four, your lineups remain lack luster and usually of one type)).

I know. I agree with you. That’s why I said removing some OP flanks is ok. But Gaijin seems to want to remove all flanks for some unfathomable reason.

A large majority of the changes/edits they have done to all the maps have been terrible but not all of them.
I should have been more detailed and pointed out specifics but its a little difficult without having access to my usual PC to browse the maps, again not all of them have been bad there are some good changes but a large majority of the changes are absolutely terrible.
They clearly need to ask for player input before they make these changes as they don’t seem to understand their own maps from a gameplay perspective and how it will affect gameplay on the maps .

Removing sight-lines that were not overpowered or cover ,flanks and outright shrinking the map/changing the terrain and making areas out of bounds is terrible. One quick map that does actually come to mind that I think they absolutely ruined is Fields of Poland. The original imo was vastly better and needed some slight adjustments to cover up the spawn areas from line of sights, but they absolutely butchered that map with their edits.

It clearly shows with the edits they have done and are doing that they dont play their own game nor understand the significance of certain spots within a map and are attempting blind blanket fixes/edits that are terrible for the enjoyment and game-play of the game .

Then when is a flank categorised as “overpowered”?

Why not have 4 points? I feel like it wouldnt hurt to give players more points to cap.

Moving point B to this location is not a good idea, as the red team must pass two bridges that are easy to control. At the same time, the blue team does not have such difficulties.
Maybe something like this

good idea just with moving the spawn point back you will end up with the right team needing to cross a bridge to get to there first point with the other team not needing to

i dont know how bad of an idea it would be but what if you moved the red spawn up to D6 and the blue up to the far left of F4 , you may have to move the A point slightly.
Still all suggestions are better than what gaijin is proposing

That also looks good. I’m still not sure exactly where the B-point should be placed, as long as it’s somewhere on the north side of the river.

I’d also like at least two spawn zones for each team (one on each bank)
