I make this in the spirit of previous “gaijin pls” threads for copy-pasting in previous dev server trials.
Should Gaijin add a captured British Pucara, the first captured vehicle for the British TT in War Thunder?
Yes - Do it for the funi/I would be interested in buying
No - I do not wish for it to be added

If Gaijin do add it, would you support a discounted multi pack? (similar to event/triple vehicle packs on sale) Within which, there would be an in built discount for getting both?
Yes - A 10-40% discount would be reasonable
Yes - moar discount!
No - I do not wish for a multi vehicle pack

Simply as the title puts it, would people be interested/support the addition of this specific version of the Pucara alongside the Argentine-German one?
Given the relatively low BR of the prop plane, and its current not overtly OP nature, it would make a nice option in the UK TT alongside the Wyvern for offering players a CAS choice for GRB especially and would provide a nice option outside of the relatively weapon limited light CAS within the Tree as a whole within that BR range also.
I also added the additional option as it would make sense for gaijin to do perhaps some “buy both for a discount” when doing premium copy releases within the same release (if gaijin picks to add a British premium Pucara of course).
I doubt it would happen considering gaijin has never given britain a captured vehicle, and lean a little more to argentina on the falklands situation (moments of valour for argentina focused on their invasion of the british islands)
it wouldnt add anything of note to the tree considering we have mosquitos that complete the role better, and the westland welkin coming in at around the BR (the welkin by the way can turn really good so be careful fighting them. We also have the wyvern for turboprop strike aircraft, even if it is now a little overtiered at 5.0
1- The Falklands War / guerra de las Malvinas is pretty much the only significant modern conflict Argentina saw, since while volunteers did see combat on WW2, they were found on both sides and did very minor stuff, a pretty difficult situation. Other “conflicts” were just coups d’état (up to 6 on the 20th century).
2- It also released on the 9th of July, Indepence day for Argentina.
I just know gaijin will turn it into a boat somehow.
I do feel like they are tryin to make a Wyvern 2.0 with a premium Pucará…
It can carry Napalm, nose mounted cannons with nice ballistics and a strike spawn
Perfect for the brainless base bombers that used the wyvern for SL.
As a brit who has friends who fought defending the falklands it came across incredibly tone deaf. Gaijin also could have used a fictional conflict to avoid such a sore point for argentina and britain, or just not done a “valour” video, just release the skins for their independance from colonial spain.
its roll rate is incredibly poor and its rudder authority is about as good as the scimitar jet. Its STR is comparable to the clipped wing spitfires though, you can roll out of the way but you cant run away or really escape its turn.
Probably wont be as good, pucara was built cheap, ran cheap and arent pushing the envelope like its BR peers did in their era. the wyvern also has much harder hitting guns and a lot more power behind it
a little bit of Politics but preferably we can take it to DMs if you want, I just want to give a little apology.
Sorry for that
While my view may differ from the ownership of the Islands
I can tell you 100% the war was not the way, practially no one in Britain knew about the Islands but after the war as an attempt from certain someone (applies on both sides, Thatcher on Britain and Military Junta on Argentina) to save get some more support.
But yeah im sorry if I came badly, but our indepence was in 1816? what can you do with that?
Could have worked, but I only saw moments of valor of Argentina, idk about if any other countries had that treatment.
True, Pucará was made to blow up some undesirable people on the north of Argentina. So no SAMs, no dedicated AA cannons, just dudes with maybe a automatic rifle. That also explains no flares or guided weapons to outrange stuff
Pucará also isn’t very fast, there’s a reason why it was shot down when it saw manpads and advanced FCS.
Britain are just given 1-2 OP stuff, then pure crap and then the OP stuff is nerfed, can’t have a break don’t they?
best we dont. I can agree to disagree and leave it as so.
theres been a few of those videos made, often with some historical backstory and then a modern conflict recreation/callback at the end.
the Argentinian valour video could have focused on argentinians serving with the british or other allies during ww2 if they wanted a historical basis (just gloss over where a lot of certain people escaped to later)
not too different to the hawk 200 family i guess, just on a cheaper basis.
last OP thing britain saw was the fox a few years ago now, should have stayed at 7.7 but minor nation tax hits hard
I meant like the Wyvern at 4.3 / 4.0? (I believe it was 4.0 at some point) and the Lf Mk. IX
But now the Wyvern has been hit in the knee 3 times and sent to hell (can see he-162 and P-59 on full uptiers), while the Lf Mk. IX was just sent at the correct BR (Yak-3U didn’t for some reason).
Frankly I like british aviation, specially those wacky props and WW1 stuff.
idk if you have tried the wyvern recently but it is considerably slower now because of increased drag, It cant really run away from anything or turn with anything now…
the yak3u is an easy 6.3 plane, but it sits in a certain tree soo… shrug
there may be a lot of nationalistic bias here but the british tree has a better hitrate of pretty and intresting aircraft than any other tree. a fair few of them are quite good (unless its a jet, then its almost certainly overtiered by a lot)
Would be the second captured machine this update, would at least let the British have one captured machine for once.
I’m genuinely surprised by the lack of any captured equipment given the history of the British capturing equipment in the world wars & other wars, hell some of the captured equipment in other trees first fell into British hands before going to other countries for their own evaluation & service.
