The total weight is 16 tons, the crew is 3 people and the loading crew is 7 people, adopting the standard arrangement of international wheeled combat vehicles, the power cabin is located on the right side of the front of the vehicle, the driver and the commander are located on the left side of the power cabin, the battle room is in the center, and the rear is the crew cabin. There are three crew members and seven passengers. There are partitions for sound insulation, noise reduction and heat insulation between each cabin in the car.
In order to improve the off-road ability of wheeled armored vehicles, ZBL-08 is equipped with a computer-controlled central charging and deflating system, which can raise or reduce the air pressure of all or a single tire to a predetermined value in a few minutes, enhancing the vehicle’s ability to pass in marshes and soft sandy zones. The tire adopts 14.00R20-18PR full wire radial safety protection tire, which can still travel 100 kilometers at a speed of 30~40 kilometers per hour after being shot.
Protection performance
ZBL-08 adopts the form of “matrix steel plate + composite armor” and is equipped with ceramic drapered armor to meet the armor protection requirements of vehicles. The maximum protection level of the vehicle is 1000 m against 23mm armor-piercing incendiary bombs on the front and 100 m against 12.7mm armor-piercing incendiary bombs on the side. In addition, each side of the turret is equipped with a group of 3 projectile smoke bomb launchers, and the car is equipped with a collective three defense device and automatic fire extinguishing device, which effectively improves the battlefield survival ability.
Weapons System
The main weapons are a “Shipunov 2A72” 30mm machine gun (carrying 500 rounds), a Type 86 7.62mm parallel machine gun (carrying 2,000 rounds) and an improved AFT-73C anti-tank missile(HJ73C), with an optional “UW4” 30mm unmanned remote control weapon station if necessary.
