The MiG-15 had the advantage in many ways, no doubt. It could get to altitude faster and could climb higher, and had better armament. Most fights the MiG-15 got into it could handle. Acting like it isn’t an impressive or capable jet is simply wrong.
The only real advantage the US had was the Radar Gun indicator or whatever it was called, that essentially let you know and adjust for firing at an enemy.

We learned our lesson after Korea. We were horribly outpaced, and decided to catch up. I’d make the argument that since then, we’ve stayed on pace with Soviet Equipment, or at least our Latest Tech has. That said; there is no question that American Equipment, mainly planes, were outworked and out engineered in Korea.
