Planned Battle Rating Changes (October 2026) — Aircraft and Ground Vehicle Decompression

Why isn’t the Antelope going up in BR? Its a better Strela at a lower BR. Its missiles pull 15 more G’s have IRCCM and a larger warhead.

The T-72Bs being so sad and mediocre that even the devs forgot about them.

agree, always a bit sad to fire a missile at the stormer or for that matter the ASRAD and see numerous missiles that they fire hit the munition and do nothing

Like, i’m all for for buffing the t72b in some way, it’s a miserable experience playing it when the mobility and gun handling doesn’t exist, armour is mid as fuck and you have to actively try to make it useful and about the only good thing about the t72b is the pen, but there should not be 0.7 br difference between it and the 2a4

I thought it was fine, defo better than 10.3 it was year or so ago.

Please no.

I’d much rather see decompression in that area as well.

lol no antelope is worse

Yeah imo the T-80UD is in a good spot currently. Far from weak but also far from strong.

Type 99 has noticeably better muzzle velocity, which makes it easier to aim at a distance, and easier to hit moving targets.

But all in all I’d rather see the 2S19M1 and AuF1 be moved up in BR.

yeah it has relatively bad mobility

All of this needs to be raised by 0.3, not by 2 steps.

I would like to share my feedback regarding the proposed BR increase of the Type 90 (B) from 11.7 to 12.0.

I have played 118 battles in the Type 90 (B), and I do not feel that its current capabilities justify this increase without improvements to its other limitations.

My main concerns are:

  • Firepower: The JM33 APFSDS has approximately 481 mm of penetration at point-blank range. Against heavily armored MBTs, particularly those in hull-down positions, frontal engagements can be extremely difficult.
  • Survivability: Its armor offers limited protection against APFSDS rounds encountered at this BR. Based on my own protection analysis, even rounds from some vehicles at similar or lower BRs can penetrate large areas of the tank.
  • Thermals: Its Gen 1 thermal sights put it at a disadvantage when detecting and identifying distant targets against vehicles equipped with better-generation thermals.
  • Reload and mobility: Although the 4-second autoloader and good mobility are valuable advantages, they do not always compensate for its weaknesses. If the first shot fails to destroy or disable an enemy, the Type 90 may be destroyed before it can make effective use of its second shot.

I understand that vehicle BRs are not determined by armor and firepower alone, and I am not claiming that the Type 90 has no strengths. However, I believe its reload speed and mobility may be outweighing its practical limitations when its BR is evaluated.

I ask Gaijin to reconsider the proposed increase to BR 12.0, or to consider improvements to its ammunition, thermal sights, or other capabilities if the increase is retained.

Please consider the experience of players who regularly use the Type 90, not only its statistical performance but also how consistently it can perform in actual battles.

i’d say the ud is pretty strong, has good armour, good pen, good reload, the mobility certainly isn’t the best, but it’s far more than enough to keep up with everyone (especially since most players at the br keep changing directions or bumping into each other constantly slowing themselves down), the gun handling is also not the best, but it’s miles better with the upgraded vertical drive and does the job; the only real hiccup it has is the reverse speed and lack of thermals, but it’s not like you’re missing much without the thermals since they’re not good either way on comparable tanks;
i have the chinese t80ud with thermals and it plays very well even at a higher br even if you don’t use the thermals

Agreed, they shouldn’t move up at all in ground since they only have dumb bombs for ordnance, at least in air they are being separated from the ARH missile planes which is good.

AUB74/HVG BR : 8.3 → 8.0
Reason: The damage caused by small caliber APFDS is minimal, and the armor is also very fragile, so there is no reason to increase its BR

It’s alright, but it struggles to break into the top 10 10.7 MBTs (current pre decompression 10.7)

Type 74 (C) & Type 74 Red Star

Rationale
If these two earlier models of Type 74 are to go up, they should receive improved ammunition to make them more on-par with other similarly armed vehicles of 8.7.

This is also an important historical change since one of the major improvements of the Type 74 (B) and (C) over the base model was that they were compatible with APFSDS ammunition. While Type 93 APFSDS was only introduced at a later point, they should at least have access to M735.

They can do virtually nothing about them, only chanhe they can make is giving both versions Shtora addons, but that wouldnt even change much. All other changes would make them into another vehicles.
0.7 diff in BR is pretty justified when Leopard 2A4 overall has way better mobility, FCS, gun handling. Only thing T-72B has going for it is armor that should be the last to consider since relying on armor is a losing fight.

IMO they should simply not be moved up however I am all up for adding improved variants of these since USSR is still massively lacking in things that could be added. These two could have T-72BA and T-90 added, both would be nice 10.7’s, T-72BA offering better mobility and T-90 offering better FCS, possibly even a thermal.

TBH T-64B does not make sense to be only 0.3 BR chanve from T-80UD but that’s T-64BV issue of being high tbh. T-64BV alsp should be 1.4 tons heavier but I never see devs accepting that until a full T-64BV manual becomes available.

What are your thoughts on the performance and assessment of the Type 90 tank?
