The F-40s suffers at this BR due to the constant uptiers, and the fact that it’s so close to supersonics like the F-104C (9.3) and MiG-19PT (9.3).
Su-34 has a PESA radar, J-11A and Su-30MKK both have worse radars, engines, less flare count, and both have older RWRs.
honestly doesnt sound that crazy for current F14A as most 11.3s can dodge a phoenix
moving the premium Su-30s up to 13.7 while doing this. Agreed

Additionally, what warrants the Ariete to fight F-5Cs and J-7Ds, which will laugh at it, as well as have a higher chance of fighting MiG-21MF/SMTs, which if they’re not stupid will also kick its head in?

It was previously 13.3 but when they added the Su-30MK2 they moved it up to 13.7 for some reason.
that BR range is my current flavour of the month so ive had a lot more hands on around the 7.7-9.3 BR much more than normal and my thoughts reflect it fully.
We both know gaijin will not fix the APHE issue so this at least protects lower BRs from it for a bit longer.
kind of sad given it has one of the best flight models at the br(its a slightly stronger and faster f15C)
Also no? R-77s are borderline IR missile range cause of the stupid high drag, everything else about it is good yes but you can easily outplay it if you stick to BVR. J-11B is the same BR with better IR and Radar missiles.

Reason:
Currently the F/A-18E is the weakest 14.3 aircraft. At top tier it has the worst AESA radar and the worst ARH missiles. It’s also the slowest top tier jet in the game.
AIM-120B/C-5 are easily the worst top tier ARH missiles, because their only advantage is long range capability. They are by far the easiest missiles to notch and the least maneuverable.
So I don’t see a reason why would it go to 14.7, while it struggles at this moment. It’s not really any better than the JAS-39E, which has better flight model and much better AESA radar.

With the f15a moving down this thing has no right being 12.7 with only 2 radar missiles. The event version of the plane goes down to 12.3 for having less flares which you dont need.
