The 2S38 despite being an SPAA, is a multi-purpose vehicle in the game. It does it all and fulfills all roles in a single vehicle.
Yes on paper it’s this great versatile vehicle in practice you’re gonna be fighting tanks 95% of the time and not planes and in that scenario its trash for the already mentioned reasons.
It is the only vehicle in the game that can do all of it at once and not compromise in the slightest.
You cannot go for frontal duels against mbts because of your poor survivability, post pen and reload speed and you are too slow and huge to flank.
The begleitpanzer for it’s BR is a way more effective vehicle because it’s faster, smaller target, faster reload rate (0,3s instead of 0,5s) and can actually tank a hit.
