Really? The turret crew are basically hugging, it’s not hard to just aim for them no?
Like I get that it’s not the normal center mass shot, but the Turm has like 30 mm of armour max, it’s paper. Thats not even getting into the giant ammo rack on the left side of the turret
The F-2 ADTW is currently around a 2011+ model. The confusion around the armaments was that due to it lacking AAM-4s, i assumed it to be the original J/APG-2 test, which only had 90cms and would lack JDAMs.
However it has since been clarified that the ADTW isnt actually this first J/APG-2 test, but instead a fully modernized example, and the lack of AAM-4s is just due to balancing and not compatability.
Somua SM (7.7) - 8.0/8.3 in GRB.
Reason: it’s very effective tank on 7.7. It has 4 sec reload with auto-reload mech. and it’s a heavy tank; Type 90 was placed higher due to it’s reload speed being a tank with almost no armor anywhere. Somua SM has good armor, acceptable speed and agility and one of the best projectiles in the bracket (better than HEAT and APDS in it’s enemy’s guns).
Instead of a rational consideration of my arguments, the discussion shifted toward evaluating me as a player: that I play badly, don’t understand the game, have poor eyesight, and started playing with only one nation. I don’t have the time or the desire to grind every tech tree, which I consider a reasonable approach. This also explains why I am participating in a discussion about potential balance changes to the T-80UD and 2S38, rather than about vehicles such as Abrams or Leopard.
I am not trying to present myself as all-knowing; I am simply describing what I see from my own perspective. Others may disagree with it, and that is perfectly fine. I have provided the arguments that reflect my experience, but this discussion is about vehicle balance, not about personal characteristics of the players involved.
At the same time, several recurring gameplay issues are rarely addressed. For example, matches on the USSR side that end very quickly, where after the first minute the team is largely eliminated and the remainder of the battle often turns into spawn camping. SPAAs such as Gepard or XM246, which are highly effective against ground vehicles across a wide range of battle ratings, are also often excluded from balance discussions. Nevertheless, vehicles from the USSR tech tree are frequently presented as the main source of imbalance.
Wheeled light vehicles that can reach rear areas early in a match while using FnF ATGMs are generally considered acceptable within the current balance. In this context, the Begleitpanzer at 9.7 is rarely viewed as toxic or disruptive when facing vehicles at 9.3, whereas the 2S38 often receives significantly harsher criticism despite offering a very similar gameplay experience.
It is possible that player experience varies significantly depending on team composition and match conditions. However, focusing primarily on top-level players who can consistently maximize vehicle performance, while paying less attention to how vehicles perform in average gameplay, may not fully reflect the overall balance picture.
It is literally already worse than the 2S38’s APHE in terms of velocity/ballistics, penetration, angle performance and post-penetration damage.
Begleits best AP round is literally worse than 2S38’s worst AP round in every single way.
The I-TOW is barely if ever useful and APFSDS will fullfill the same purpose against thicker armour while being much more versatile (due to having better velocity, a smaller calibre, i.e. sub-calibre and thus being able to go through turret rings, driver-hatches and various other places the 57mm full-calibre cant due to volumetric and angle-performance/auto-bounce angles.)
Ah yes, because torque is modelled so well in this game that it makes a difference, right?
Again, worse power-to-weight ratio.
LWS? ESS? Gen 3 Thermals? Commander Thermals? APHE? APFSDS? IRST? Ready Rack Size?
One can be disabled with 5.8mm machine guns, the other cant.
Are we just gonna ignore those things and act like they’re equal or even close to each other?
Begleitpanzer 57 mm is by no means 10.3 worthy as it entirely lacks any sort of utility that made 2S38 undertiered in the first place (it was never the anti-tank performance, which is however what people commonly cope about. 2S38 is/was undertiered because it is quite literally the best utility platform in the game)
Begleit meanwhile lacks almost all (exception being proxy-he) of the afforementioned utility while being worse against tanks (I-TOW can only be used at <5km/h and doesnt feature a tandem charge, so its barely if ever useful and most certainly a worse option than APFSDS for long-range - or any engagement against heavier armour).
I don’t think that F/A-18E going to 14.7 air is a good idea. It’s slower, than anything else at 14.7, has worse radar, and it’s weapons kit is not as big, as on Su-30SM/SM2. So why 14.7? (Unless AIM-120D is planned). Also, it’s not that worthy of 13.0 TRB. It has worse ATGMs, than Su-30, with the same amount of them, but less A2A weapons. And I’m not even talking about Jas-39E’s loadout.
You didn’t fix any of the vehicles that are actively ruining the game so, it seems like a waste of time. You guys keep saying “Russian bias does not exist!” yet you keep adding vehicles like the terminator. All you’ve done to stop the very obvious terminator stomp is move it up to 11.3 which does nothing. You’ve added a vehicle that cannot be nerfed by BR but you don’t care because you get a fat check anytime someone gets annoyed enough to buy it. You guys need to actually fix your game instead of moving some stupid Chieftain up in BR or adding a new air BR and rank. I know for a fact that you added the new rank that way you can add $90 premiums to the game next update. It is such a let down to see you guys ignore your community because you can make more money off of them by not fixing the issues. Please, please, please, stop doing this to us, you have made a game that has lasted for nearly 15 years and now you choose to truly run it into the ground.
lol so the Beglita round is 3.8% worse than the APHE of the 2s38, despite spalling just as much if not more, it has marginally less pen and velocity. What a terrible point you made. They’re identical, what one will do the other will do to. Meaning you’re proving my point more! Thanks!
Love how the Beglit is fine, and the 2s38 MUST BE NERFED! OR THE HEAVENS WILL FALL!
Despite the Beglit being rather identical, that’s why it should be a 10.3, or at the very veryyy least a 10.0
But the issue is you are not unwilling to admit that perspective might be based on wrong assumptions, thats the problem here.
Let me ask differently - whats the reason behind such stark difference in our users experiences?
How is it that I find T-80UD good, because I find it working in certains situations where 2A4/M1 would fail, whereas you, who only played T-80UD, seem to think its bad?
We play the same tank, in the same matchmaker, meeting the same foes.
Where does the difference come from?
It is extremely funny that you say that last part because YOUR assumptions seem to not fully reflect the overall balance picture.
