Out of stupid curiosity, what role does the plane fill in the PLAAF? I would’ve assumed that the J-11/15/16 family to be able to do it
At the time, the PLA considered the Su-35 to be the most advanced Flanker fighter jet, and therefore purchased it. After delivery, they discovered that the aircraft’s avionics and radar systems were inferior to those of the PLA’s own radar. Later, they learned that the aircraft was identical to the Russian one, so the PLA deployed it to the South China Sea for patrol missions.

Exactly, people have doubts for high-end domestic fighters like J-10C and J-16 being implemented in a competitive manner, while C&P a Su-35 from the USSR tree is easy day for Gaijin and it would be competitive.
Yet given how USSR gets a Venezuelan Su-30MK2 but China as the launcher customer of said model doesn’t, eh…

I recall reading some explanations that stated the PLA’s Su-35 fighter jets were purchased directly from Russia’s in-use equipment. This is why the PLA’s Su-35s have the same blue and white camo as the Russian VVS, and why their avionics systems are identical.
Damn bruh, I guess they wont add KH38 to Chinese tech tree.
Back to the early days when JH7 first introduced in game, people reported it could carry PL5E2s and more than 3 KH29s. These loadouts wont be added until the next update, when the premium comes out, for “balancing purposes”.

Probably as a folder vehicle as I don’t see this being a huge step over the Chinese flankers, wouldn’t be like the Su-35S we know the Russians have.
Aircraft is pretty much the same with minor differences, so most likely gonna be affected with the “same aircraft, same weapons” thingy once it comes one day

I have a slight feeling that won’t be the case with this one seeing how most of the new weapons were recently integrated onto it.
While the Su-35 is very cool I think adding it will just lead to Gaijin not giving China their own Flankers somehow. So no thank you.

I still stand by my opinion: I DO NOT WANT SU-35s FOR CHINA. They can get their own domestic jets or domestic flankers.

China has its own domestically produced aircraft and doesn’t need the Flanker.
Russia also have a lot of flankers in the tech tree. So how they’re getting an export version
I second it but would still like to see it foldered with some of the Chinese flankers, it just encourages laziness.

Good point. They literally never introduced up-to-date jets that can keep US and Chinese tech trees relatively competitive in the current meta. (Except for the F15 in AS version).
But for Chinese weapons… I doubt they’re gonna make it competitive. Consider the CM502 incident, as well as the missing armaments when JH7 first introduced.

I don’t know exactly why a Su-30MK2; I thought it would be something like a MiG-29 OVT or MiG-29M. China should receive the Su-30MK2 as a premium aircraft and the J-16 in the tech tree, but for top-tier vehicles they have the option of having the J-10C, J-35, J-20, and in the future a Su-35 to fill gaps. But Russia should enjoy the Su-35 first, and China should enjoy the J-10C; I’m sure it will be as good as the J-10A, which, despite being forgotten, is a good aircraft when I played it on my friend’s account.
