If im going to be competing with other players for rewards, I want the full capability of my jet. If you want dogfights only I imagine theres communities out there that do them in customs but It’s pointless that they make it a seperate gamemode

Why it wouldn’t hurt anyone. If you don’t want to play the guns only gamemode you cam still play the normal ARB. Learning how to dogfight and getting rewarded for beeing good feels why better than spamming missiles, doesn’t it?
I feel like the most simple solution is just to play early jets/props if you dislike missile spam, most jets since the 60s have been built around missiles

Didn’t you read the post? I said that the goal of the grinding is to get to top tier and getting there should make fun so why can’t I use the power of my plane for dogfighting. I grind to top tier just to go down to a lower BR because gajin took all the skill away from top tier. Thats just sad
This makes this sound more like an elitist thread. Gives off “we need gun only so us with TRUE skill can play” vibes.
Kind of a weird thing imo. Like grinding top tier tanks then complaining that everyone uses apfsds.
You grinded to the era where missiles are the main way to kill. There is a reason the f8 was called the last gun fighter.

I think you’re missing my point, you grind to toptier to have the most advanced jets with the most advanced weaponry, why take that away? Lets say hypothetically your idea is implemented, russia is suddenly the most busted nation for this gamemode with the r73s for close range, and if you want to outrange literally anyone else, you bring r27et/t’s

It still need balancing. I just want that this idea gets some hope for being added befor I waste my time with thinking of how to balance this. And still Russian plane share the worst dogfight flightmodel. If you know how to flare R-73 a R-27ET you can still be good and then win the dogfight against russian planes
I never said I want this so the TRUE skilled players can play the game. I said everyone can play with Fox 3 or not like he wants. Thats pretty easy, isn’t it?
U wanna kill a T-80BVM with a 0.50 cal? That just doesn’t make sense. In air I also upgrade the gun. You can’t take tthe main weapon away for planes it strated with MG/MK and with tanks it started with Guns.
They are the " main way to kill" … Maybe. Why do the developer develop a plane for good dogfight. Why we don’t use that?
No because arguably these fox 3s have different doctrines and different disadvantages and advantages, you can work around things. Dogfights at top tier would just be Gripens shitting on everyone else by pressing the S key.

It would be fun as a limited event, missile spam can be quite annoying at higher BRs. Gunfighting is very rare, and I’d like to try it in planes that don’t normally do it.

No. Grippen is good yes but not unbeatable. I tried it out with my friends and we both know how to dog fight. If 1 person makes a mistake it hard to get the advantage back but possible. The grippen has also the problem of good dogfight missiles
Yeah. As a testing event same as with the Fox-3 missiles just to see how it is, make it better and maybe make it a part of a game if m,any players have fun with it. But at least give it a try

You worded it so suggest that doing gun-only dogfights is “being good”
Because sometimes you still have to dogfight. Is a good idea to make sure your back-up plans are also good.

Gripen is shitting on Russian planes with dogfight missiles. Also, you said guns only dogfight mode as well. It will just be a Gripen fest. With current top tiers, you see many different airframes and variety of missiles being used.
