Saabs bid to sell the Viggen to Australia: Aim-54 Phoenixes, new nose, refueling probe…
Mockup was built
It does say guided tests were completed from helicopters.
A proposal to upgrade their aging M41s (and possible m42 hulls) to a more modern standard. It incorporated an Abrams turret interior skeleton with a 105mm Gun. Project was canceled due to the fact this turret made the M41 more vulnerable than the original vehicle.
Made for ROCA
Just a reference
The Avro was one of the first interceptor/fighter that is canadian made and one of the fastest for its time, the project was cancelled because the US doesnt want Canada to have the first, so they demand Canada to dismantle it and hired all of the person that worked on the CF-105
But in short, its quite fast, has good manuverability at high speed, carries weapon on the belly bay which include air to air missle, 1000lb bombs, and guided missle. The missles were all under development(hasnt finished) but ultimately was switch and cancelled because of the US
pretty sad
that’s hilarious, I love it.

There were plans to convert the USS Hawaii (CB-3), the nearly-completed third ship of the Alaska-class, to a guided missile/ballistic missile cruiser or a command cruiser. Images and info from Friedman’s “U.S. cruisers”.
First missile cruiser design, carrying American-built V2 missiles and XPMs (prototypes for the RIM-8 Talos):
Second missile cruiser design, with UGM-27 Polaris, Talos, and Tartar missiles:
Command cruiser design, armed entirely with 5-inch/54 guns, carrying AN/SPS-2/-3/-8 radars, helipad at stern:
I actually really wanted to suggest the command cruiser design, would’ve been an Atlanta on steroids. But alas, I’m pretty sure it fails the “unique/vehicle-specific parts” rule since apparently no work was done on the ship towards this outfit (they even appropriated funds towards the project and removed the 12-inch turrets before cancellation… if the damn Yanks had made even a single weld for the new design…).
