It does say guided tests were completed from helicopters.
A proposal to upgrade their aging M41s (and possible m42 hulls) to a more modern standard. It incorporated an Abrams turret interior skeleton with a 105mm Gun. Project was canceled due to the fact this turret made the M41 more vulnerable than the original vehicle.
Made for ROCA

Just a reference
The Avro was one of the first interceptor/fighter that is canadian made and one of the fastest for its time, the project was cancelled because the US doesnt want Canada to have the first, so they demand Canada to dismantle it and hired all of the person that worked on the CF-105
But in short, its quite fast, has good manuverability at high speed, carries weapon on the belly bay which include air to air missle, 1000lb bombs, and guided missle. The missles were all under development(hasnt finished) but ultimately was switch and cancelled because of the US
pretty sad
that’s hilarious, I love it.

ST-21 SUPER TOMCAT with TVC and other fun upgrades
For full list …look at US/RU tech trees
There were plans to convert the USS Hawaii (CB-3), the nearly-completed third ship of the Alaska-class, to a guided missile/ballistic missile cruiser or a command cruiser. Images and info from Friedman’s “U.S. cruisers”.
First missile cruiser design, carrying American-built V2 missiles and XPMs (prototypes for the RIM-8 Talos):
Second missile cruiser design, with UGM-27 Polaris, Talos, and Tartar missiles:
Command cruiser design, armed entirely with 5-inch/54 guns, carrying AN/SPS-2/-3/-8 radars, helipad at stern:
I actually really wanted to suggest the command cruiser design, would’ve been an Atlanta on steroids. But alas, I’m pretty sure it fails the “unique/vehicle-specific parts” rule since apparently no work was done on the ship towards this outfit (they even appropriated funds towards the project and removed the 12-inch turrets before cancellation… if the damn Yanks had made even a single weld for the new design…).

I think this (cat) is an actual production thing. And not Paper/Concept/Unfinished.
Not sure though. He does seem a bit empty.
Supermarine 545

Was fully made yet didnt even get of the ground, was mach 1.3 capable but had a proposed mach 1.7 rated engine.
CF-105 Avro Arrow
Mk1 flew without weapons
Mk2, which was legit on thw airstrip ready, was canceled
P.1154

Half built in the form of part of its airframe and fully tested engines. Legit would have been a supersonic early harrier.
P.1121
Half built contender against the lightning

weird irish prototypes and one paper tank
(AML with Fox turret, AML with 25mm bushmaster, Comet with 90mm recoilless rifle, and Timoney Light Tank)
The AML’s and Comet in that picture did exist and were functional so putting them in this thread isn’t appropriate
However the Timoney LT is a interesting find
Nah the thread can also have normal protos. I thought I said that in the original text, but ig not. I’ll fix it
reading through the thread i saw multiple real prototypes
