L15A2 will behave in the same way as F3.
SAP is usable but it’s going to be pretty situational.
You’ll still be using HE as your main round considering SAP won’t have enough pen to go through plenty of stuff easily.
The biggest problem is that at those BRs vehicles start getting LRFs of their own and have full stabilization, making their reaction times much quicker in the process. This is one of the big reasons why those SPHs are still efficient in lower ranks.
except for the fact that it has much higher TNT equivalent leading to rounds being more likely to overpressure instead of just getting a hit or breaking a track.
Just to get the convo. in this topic in right direction again.
I think we can all agree that the PzH. as of right now is unfinished and underwhelming at best and should be fixed as historically accurate as the game allows or atleast be on par with the PLZ05.
And yes, i do agree that i should be a higher Br WHEN they fix it because 7.7 is just to low for SPGs of that kind (and no, the PLZ05 is no excuse that thing is to low aswell).
The question is what we can do in the meantime since, all all the missing stuff and bugs have been reported and have been for the most part accepted or added as sugestion.
If a vehicle is overperforming at a BR that isnt at the edge BRs such as 12.0, then the variable factor that should decide its balance shouldnt be changing of its reload by nearly 67% but instead moving it up in the BRs until it can be “balanced” with its historically accurate (or atleast as much as possible) capabilities.
To change its realistic reload speed of 6 seconds average to magical 10 seconds for no particular reason other than “to balance it” in order to keep it at low BR of 7.7 instead of actually making it as close to a realistic rendition of the real thing as possible and moving it up to 8.0/8.3/8.7 is pure lunacy.
The battle rating system exists primarily as a way to balance things instead of completely disregarding reality and artificially nerfing things.
By the same logic you can take an abrams, nerf its reload speed down to 60 seconds, give it some weird ass practice round and voila, a new 3.7 tank has just dropped.
The reload speed NEEDS to change, its absolutely ridiculous that it was changed in the first place. PzH needs to get its better rounds, instead of back then close to 70 year old M107 (now close to 100) and a french OE 155 F3 round that it probably never used but technically has the ability to use due to STANAG. And if it goes up in BR as a result of that then thats how its supposed to be.
People provided so many sources for L15A1 (and A2, the ingame difference is basically not noticable), the reload, hell theres even videos of the inside of PzH2000 that show how quickly it reloads and how the reload process works.
Its a disgrace that this is the state its been released in, just like this update it is simply undercooked, lacks polish and is filled with bugs.
You mean this one?)) Not even talking about 3 rounds in 10 sec type of thing. It’s just a shame, I can’t understand why and for what purpose they did it…
Your HE shell just needs to have more penetration than the thickness of the plate you’re looking to overpressure. Of course, your shell needs to have line of sight with said plate and you need to have internal components behind it.
If all of that is fulfilled, shell with 9kg HE filler will do the same job as the 14kg one. You getting a Hit or breaking a track happens when you don’t fulfill criteria above.
There are just few maps where you need laser ranging. On most of the maps you could also play a 6.0 BR M-109 or even worse, one of the low BR 155mm / 150mm artillery pieces. On Factory, Sweden etc …the majority of maps it just doesn’t matter. Thats why Panzerhaubitze is a bit lame. Same old ammunition, similar gunhandling, long reload. Nothing is better.
Except you get one of the larger maps for once. This is rare, though.
the pzh with its full 6 charges has a muzzle velocity of 950 m/s. ingame they show it uses 4 charges, as 4 are depleted every reload. 4 charges would have a velocity of around 600-700m/s. the barrel also isnt a visual thing. look at stuff like the object 140 where the longer gun increased the velocity of the rounds it fires? dosnt make sense for a 3 meter gun of the m44 and the 8 meter gun of the pzh to have the same velocity
