You can see here just slightly above Mach 1.2 at 50% fuel and 2 Magics
As I thought. Tornado needs to be around 30% fuel to start hitting mach 1.2 @ SL.
1995 iirc
Thx. Do you have entire document?
Not the case for F.3? Which are you talking about here.
I only have the charts for them in separate pages, but I don’t have the complete book. It’s called Fighter Weapons Symposium published by Lockheed Martin. Two libraries in the world have the complete book. One in Scotland and one in Colorado, US.
Do you have something comparable for Tornado (half the fuel, 2 missiles, ISA or whatever)?
No, the book only contains info for a specific weird variant for F-16, Mirage 2000 with P2 engine (what we have in-game), and F-20 Tigershark. Nothing is mentioned regarding Tornado in any of the charts. Gunjob/Flame to my understanding have the performance charts for Tornado

Should’ve said, hitting mach 1.2 in a length of time that isn’t measured in years haha.
Gotcha 😂😂
I saw them, but I prefer performances measured in the same conditions, to get a better relation between them. I’m having issue with everyone putting their top speed on the deck at a generic M1.2, so I’m trying to find more accurate data, regarding conditions measured and such. I’ve seen some wild numbers for Tornado and I’m wondering in what measure are those true, as in what conditions and such.
Most of the high tornado values are done in a dive where sometimes those speeds can be maintained. A clean tornado F.3 with reheat should do about M1.22 I expect with combat just closer to M1.24
F.2 does M1.11@19kkg with 2 sidewinders.
F.2 does M1.16 @19kkg clean.
F.3 does M1.18 @19kkg with 4 sidewinders.
Unknown…
Need our combat thrust
Isn’t something that the Dev’s model in game.
Yeah… but wonder if its about time they consider it.
No appetite for it. As there are plenty of modifications various air forces did for their airframes which would shorten the life of them (to a degree acceptable to the air forces in question). But means we would end up with aircraft that are the same Mk, but wildly different performance because of combat power settings. Which I agree with, it messes with consistency.
As much as I’d like the Tornado to be better its not going to happen and efforts are better spent elsewhere.
Fair enough. Back to hoping for our 1200 chaff next update
I can see the logic when it comes to stuff like the +48C engine setting the RAF trialed in Op Granby (which absolutely obliterated engine life). But for the Tornado the “Combat” setting was a standard feature that the pilots could use for up to 5 minutes (even in peace time) with no ill effects. It’s no different to WEP which all the prop planes get in game.
