On a sidenote, the only nation to fight WW2 from September 39 to August 45 was the United Kingdom.
Great Patriotic War ('41-'45) v. WW2 ('39-'45)
seen by some as two separate conflicts
Why soviet pfp again?
Because clearly Soviet Russia won WW2 all by themselves and were all heroes who did nothing wrong.
Who do you think is in the photo with the flag in Berlin?
Pages of Soviet Union (2025) At least thats how this slop feels like. With the occasional Bri ’ ish and rare US appearance.
Iam honestly disappointed we didn’t get a gigantic victory banner to display our ideological preferences. Or will that be part of some other victory day event…hmm gibus a gigantic red victory banner flag so that we can cover our tanks with it pls. Like the naval one, just without the flag pole.
Pls Gaijin make it happen
ackshually
its a pretty even split between 11xBritish (incl. Commonwealth and an exiled Pole), 12xUS (including one Mexican), and 12xSoviet pfps, with two Frenchmen and an Israeli to round it off
having said that, this one will be the 4th Pages of History related to the flag raising over the Reichstag
alright i give em that. Just goes to show how boring PoH is, at least for me.
It’s been the subject for 4 May 8s in a row. First the two NCOs, then their lieutenant last year, now their battalion commander. We’ll get back to Zhukov eventually.
yeah…
its a memorable and iconic moment and all that, but its kinda stale at this point
You know you can always suggest people for consideration? What’s needed is a photo, the name, the achievement and what battle/date to tie it to.
I offered James Edgar Johnson this winter, albeit for June (his wing was among the first to operate from just captured Normandy). But as you can see, he got in as the annual Spitfire march profile picture.
Apart from that I’ve suggested at least 4 more people, incl. “Sailor” Malan for BoB, Kirill Yevstigneev, “Rod” Smith (leader of the first flight to shoot down a Me 262) and, now, a tank commander N.G. Chubarov for next May (or the May after) to not only post banner raisers.
I’ve noticed a bit of a pattern with at least 3 months: March is dedicated to Spitfires, May is Berlin/Reichstag Banner raisers, and June is D-Day. The rest is up for debate.
I would suggest something revolutionary: Can we please have profile reward pics from other nations than the Soviet Union? Why must pages of history always be pages of the Soviet Untion?
Almost every cycle the same, barely known soviets vs. not a single real Panzer or Luftwaffe Ace since years.
This is the catch. PL was attacked from Ger and SU together. One from the East, one from the West. After this, Finland was attacked by SU unprovoked and in 1945 SU also attacked Japan, despite the non agression pact.
By that logic just the western powers should get profile pics.
When your company owners are Russian, your historian is Russian, and a large part of your player demographic are Russians or Russophiles…
When it comes to the invasion of poland (also other attacks such as Finland), they prefer to close both eyes and cover their ears with their hands, according to them WW2 startet later.
They like to portray themselves as victims, even though they’ve been notorious aggressors.
Bruh, no. Unless you intentionally confuses (or just ignorance on the shine) “Start of WW2 (1939)” with “Start of Great Patriotic War (1941)”
No, no, no, that was the liberation campaign of the Red Army. Use the right words: not war but special operation, not invasion but liberation

I think the problem is not the quantity, but the fact that May is always soviet only. I realize that the gaijin planned more events, like D-Day andother, but these are local events, and the victory was common to all. But for gaijin victory was always only red, which matches the politics of one country.
For example, on September 2, they give just a small decal, in no way marking the end of WWII.
Don’t pretend as if the former gets any significant attention.
The need to cherry pick and the strong disregard to external events are clear indicators.
Events such as the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact are told from a victim’s perspective, a desperate measure to buy time against the Germans instead of the opportunistic take it was.
You are too focused on names.
