Why not have both lol, That way you can actually be a nousence to other light tanks the round doesent have enough pen to pen any heavier / medium tanks at the br, And its not as much filler or pen as the 35mm Oerlikon
No its a APHE, Also we are working on a Rework post for the HVAP since irl the round can pen a 10mm plate at 40~ degrees
The difference is 22 g for the 35mm Oerlikon vs 5.4 g So its not much at all its just to get a more solid AP munition and not the bouncy asf HVAP untill they can finally fix the HVAP, That for some reason works great on the M53/59 in the USSR TT
Suspicious how that works huh
For the APHEI-T

HVAP-T
nobady want to have a new AP-HE round. (Gajin wanted to fix APHE, but we players said no, so i dont want to have a downtier APHE autocannon)
Once again the pen isnt near the 35mm Oerlikon neither is the explosive filler, The game has been traumatised by the 35mm This is a way lower filler amount and penetration, But it gives you a okay round to deal with M18s or Other lighter armoured Vehicles,
APHE? I just need to aim perfectly on the cupula, and im dead. No matter how big the round is, APHE is APHE
The mentioned round penetrates 40-50mm it cant penetrate the cupola of any tanks at its tier.
yeah, ok,
And again the filler is alike that of the L3 20mm APHE, its not much, you are mostly relying on the AP aspect of the round, and at least its not HVAP,
ok, 20mm Aphe deosnt seam that bad,
The penetration calculation is for the AP-T (HVAP) btw.
PSA/PLA (APHEI/APHEI-T) would be like this;

based on;
Just for the record, KAA is the newer designation for Type 204GK - they’re the same cannon.
Some extra info on the AP-T (HVAP);
HLA is a bit different from PKLH but not by much…
(HLA = Hartkern, Leuchtspur, A-Serie // Hardcore, Tracer, A-Series [i.e. 20mm])
HLA is also a bit newer as PKLH as it uses the “new” Oerlikon naming schene.
I was aware ^^
~15mm at 60° (from the vertical) at 800m is insane compared to how low it is in WT.
Which can’t even penetrate that much at point blank range.
In WT it’s practically worse than using solid shot.
So instead of having a better round Gaijin made any vehicle using it much worse.
With the correct implemenation, 20mm HVAP would be quite capable and you can actually destroy BMPs instead of tickling them.
Most vehicles using the 20mm Oerlikon are 4.7 - 6.7, The Bmp is abit over that-
The Marder A1 is 7.7 and used HVAP till the 90s.
Well, for the most part they are just SPAAs.
The AMX-10P, R3 T20 FA-HS, U-SH 204 GK, Wiesel 1A4 are all armoured reconisence/Fighting vehicles
TPK 6.41, Ystervark are SPAA platforms
The 20mm HVAP is a complete disaster. I’m using the French truck with two 20mm cannons, and it’s incapable of destroying even other SPAAs with 8mm armor, as many of the bullets don’t penetrate.
The TPK is highly bipolar. Either you cannot kill an SPAA with 10mm of armour or you roll up to a jumbo and kill it through the side. No inbetween
The big problem with HVAP is not the post-pen. It’s the fact that using it is a shatterfest pretty much.
I will add to this I once expended the whole AMX-30 20mm coax belt into the side of a Begleitpanzer from point blank and the guy survived because the HVAP shattered on about 80% of the hits.
