Object 478BEM1: America’s Oplot

Yea fair enough on that, don’t see the harm in USA getting them

I am just of the opinion USA and USSR should be outliers as both are head representatives of West/East and shouldn’t get related equipment, also because they have just a ridiculous amount of local options each. It wouldn’t be that bad to see it as a one-off event vehicle, but the disparity in equipment is already pretty tiring sometimes. People would use it as an excuse “well they added this one so why not this?” Feels more and more like the arcade-ification of RB & sim.

Completely reasonable opinion. Both nations do have a significant amount of options and having so many nations with similar vehicles can be much.

Yea, but for someone new to WT, seeing the Merkava trio in the US makes even less sense (we know, coz Israel wasn’t separate tree n bla bla but the positioning still existing is weirding than these 478s)

-10, should come to either an Intermarium tech tree or an Ukrainian tree if such a thing ever comes in the future, but I’d rather not continue scooping from the can of worms that is “evaluation and test vehicles” purchased from other nations or brought over for testing (mi-28 and T-80U for Sweden), in particular for the US the same argument could be made for the Mig-25 that defected to Hokkaido, or for the Mig-29s that got purchased from Moldova or the Prinz Eugen that became a war trophy, and was thereafter subjected to nuclear tests and all the other museum pieces of foreign equipment that could in theory be made flightworthy/mechanically functional again if the necessary parts were to be acquired. I don’t want top tier and other parts of the game to be sloppified anymore, keep the oplot in Japan, China and the future tech tree that includes Ukraine please.

+1, Billions must have T-64 derivatives. To each according to need.

I mean, is this not a unique version of the tank specifically/only sold to the US? There wouldn’t be another tree that could realistically get it. The idea of uniqueness in trees is gone, but even then, I don’t think there is another nation out there that has a tank like this?

Currently there isn’t one indeed, but would it not make for a good squadron or event vehicle for the aforementioned potential trees(not saying like they’re sure to be added, but I feel space still exists)? It’s not like this thing would be tech tree anyway if it were added anywhere and it’s not like the US doesn’t have anything else to add of it’s own in terms of war machines, so if the point isn’t to add it just cause, then what would it be for the price of diluting the uniqueness further?

The us is the only operator of this tank the military literally uses them for training why shouldn’t they get it?

I explained in my comment above, why dilute the composition of the game even further? Why not save it for the tech trees I mentioned, god knows the US has domestic vehicles that are waiting in line to be added.

You aren’t understanding. This vehicle wouldn’t go to any other tech tree, because it was uniquely modified, and purchased, for/by the US. There are absolutely domestic vehicles we wait for, but saying this shouldn’t go to the US, but instead another nation, is just outright wrong. It wouldn’t dilute the composition of the game too much, as no other nation operates this variant.

This would make for a good squadron vehicle since it wouldn’t be put in the regular tree

As an event tank

slim chances, jim
(although we rooting for 'em but chances are still slim in WT)

^was one of those “exceptions” (as per mods)
Also, Oplot for China ~ another one but was more of a consolation + to pipe down the Chinese fans + Oplot model was just ready at that time

But … this is specifically purchased and used by US forces … no “trial” bollocks here. Its an US Army equipment that serves a definitive role.

Also, but …

ain’t happenin’, jim
