I’d be ok with seeing the early model as a premium. I’d still prefer to paywall as few unique vehicles as possible, but we’re getting the more iconic version in the tree, so I don’t think f2p players will be missing out on much if they can’t get the early one.

In general i think that is the optimal idea for premiums in war thunder, like the new mid tier packs they added to a bunch of nations, the hell and the new stay alert and stuff like that are amazing options that can balance progress, value for money and no paywall for overly unique vehicles
tho the IS2M being there is bullshit, should have been a reg late is2
not to mention then wallet warriors have a half lineup insted of 1 vehicle

Believe me, if I was calling all the shots, vehicle monetization would look way different (probably more talisman focused?).
But making the early 416 a premium is a reasonable concession I can make given the current monetization practices.

i remember this pic, you can make the suggestion but be careful to mention that this picture here is a redesign following an inspection by mockup commission in late march 1950, the finalized design was shown on May 5, it is mostly a wooden mockup and the other public pictures show clearly it is a wooden mockup, although you are in luck that the full scale mockup was built not long after…
you should be able to find just enough around in the terms of sources for your suggestion, watch out tho
When it comes to soviet stuff I use the Domestic Armoured Vehicles XX-Century series of books as my initial go to. And then if I can find an article, or even blogpost by Yuri Pasholok or Andrei bt that’ll usually contain more specific or even corrected info. Usually they even refer to and post images of primary sources which are obviously invaluable. Though their older texts more commonly contain erroneous information which they have corrected in newer material.
Maxim Kolomiets is also a good source, but I’ve had a harder time finding pdf of his literature.

Probably, squadron isnt really an option as the current system doesnt really fit it, and event isnt possible with an existing almost identical tech tree version.
Since it was also a little worse (depanding on the itiration) the most likely thing is a 6.7 premium

Also if you want a good laugh, search for any documentation regarding a object tank in english, they get so much wrong it is funny as hell.
For example i found long ago a text about the 279 that said something along the lines of:
“As it was required to survive a nuke, the soviets took a northern abundend island and dropped a 10kt nuke on it, and as the prototype still exist we can assume it survive which made stalin very happy and request it to replace to aging T54 fleet”
I have no idea what they smoked before writing this but keep me away from it

BR-412D apparently only formally entered proper service as of 1953, thought it was in production by 1951 (so says a knowledgeable acquaintance on Discord, so take with a pinch of salt).
If you go by the date BR-412D entered service, the earlier model could be restricted to BR-412B to justify a lower BR and make it more distinct. I don’t have strong feelings on it, but it’s an idea :P.

That is actually a good idea, tho any soviet B type APHE shell can do some weird shannanigans, so it might not be that much of a nerf

Gajin already just gives every soviet tank with the 100 mm this round, even in the case of prototypes like the T-34-100 and T-44-100, despite both being canceled before the end of the 40s.Idk why they do this when, as you said, BR-412B is already a good round.
In general, I think just granting a vehicle all the best rounds from the earliest theoretically compatible vehicle, just for the sake of it, detracts from the sense of progression. There are a lot of cases of this I could name, and they usually aren’t even needed in the first place. At worst, it force vehicles into unfitting BRs.

It is kinda funny the way gaijin goes about rounds, in top tier everything has to be meticulous and accurate down to the minute it was used, and in low tier they are like: “A round made for the same gun caliber in 1960? that is fine, give it to a one off 1945 proto”

Strv m/31 with APDS is probably the worst offender of this lol. Swedish reserves were perfectly fine with the APHE round. I have no clue what possessed Gajin to add it from the very start of the tree.
