If you want a full breakdown of aircraft radar, check out Tim’s Variety’s videos. The radar one is listed in my CCRP/Radar/Missile reply above: Nuclear Thunder! - #3528 by SilentTracker
I do both PvP and ground pounding. I still am quite annoyed/pissed off with how insanely good the SPAA’s are. I don’t mind them being good, but being inhumanly good is beyond the pale. I was really hoping that they could fix the SPAA’s, or at least nerf them enough for them not to be completely oppressive.
So, I personally like the changes to the airbase locations, but the SPAA’s are still too much. Especially their “ESP” allowing them to target through hills/trees or any sort of obstacle that prevents us from targeting them effectively.
+1 the ground rewards should have been adjusted in the first day, before the first tasks were completed.
RU planes typically have “large caliber” countermeasures, while US planes typically have “normal” countermeasures. Massive difference in effectiveness. You usually have fewer “large cal” countermeasures compared to planes with “normal” countermeasures. So, it is still a slight tradeoff. But imo large cal counters are almost always preferable if you have a choice (which you usually do not have a choice.)

F-4E test drive window below. USUALLY when you hover over these sections it will tell you which are large, and which are normal. This might be a bug, as the F-4E isn’t showing which ones are large on the popup. However, we can duduce that the ones on the RIGHT are the small, and the ones on the LEFT are the large caliber ones, by checking the total large vs normal on the F-4E’s stat card (30 large total, and 60 normal total.)
You can decide if you want to take a mix of both, OR change the slider to take all large cal chaff, or large cal flares on the LEFT section:

So, this would be 30 large cal chaff, and 60 normal caliber flares:

And conversely this would be 30 large cal flares, and 60 normal caliber chaff:

Yeah, i tried my 111 and it intercepts EVERYTHING.
I literally just had a buck with its radar off hit me with a missile it saw me thru a mountain and manually guided it into me make make sense
You can adjust your RWR sensitivity in your settings. I have found that between 80% and 90% makes the RWR pings more useful. Helps filter out a lot of the pings from super far away radars that are not actually targeting/locking/launching on you. Check my previous reply for screenshots for the setting: Nuclear Thunder! - #6451 by SilentTracker
Below ~75% is NOT advisable for the event imo, as you sometimes do NOT get a warning for nearby radar pings/locks/launches, even from enemy planes. Very bad. The lowest I have been using is 80%. Above 90% I hardly notice any difference. Still get nearly nonstop RWR pings above 90%, making it almost useless.
85% is probably the sweetspot for most players, and where I would suggest starting, and adjusting up or down to your own preference if desired.
plaid it after the last update. still shit
its not as good as it was before, but i saw the big nukes again

Did you know you can irondome missiles with the nuclear blast?
Points are sadly lessened by the nerf, imo they should be back to how it was per air to air kill
I found it WAY easier to get points since the change.
It’s the first event I hit 6320 score in a single match. I’d have got more of a BUK didn’t respawn and interrupt my final trench run on the enemy airfield.

If your not only playing air to air it’s easier, but mostly if you combat it’s harder.
it is becouse you are bad at this game. it wa easy to do 7k score in 30 min before the changes
That’s not an answer…
It is easier…literally go around and toss nukes. If you know how, there is no challenge at all. There is no need to tryhard it , just farm GTs with nukes.
It’s just a bit slower and not really fun, especially if you prefer A-A in general.
Stop sucking the “skill issue” "bad at the game " etc. Find a new one… and especially when someone has right…
I would not consider myself “bad” given I’m able to score as top 6 for TSS tournaments.
I’m not great. But I’m solidly average and confident in my dogfighting skills with gunfighters against similarly experienced people.
If you’re up for it, I’m more than eager to duel with you after the event finishes with something like the 109 F-4.
However here’s the kicker.
If I want to dogfight people I can go and fly air SB or Il2: Great Battles. I can do this 24 hours per day, all seven days of the week, all year round.
I can only toss nukes in nuclear thunder.
Based on this pretty simple logic, I want to LARP as Luke skywalker doing trench runs through canyons and under radar to toss p̶r̶o̶t̶o̶n̶ ̶t̶o̶r̶p̶e̶d̶o̶s̶ 5/30 kt nukes.

not mine obviously but damn 29 kills and only 4.1k mp
You play 13.0 i see, i have only tried with MIG 23MLD and F4J tier
Gaijin ruined this mode.
They refuse to nerf the insane AA, they nerf air rewards, increase cost for small nukes etc.
Compared to the first day or two, it just feels like a chore playing this crap. CAS is just not fun at all with the AA the way it is, and the PVP aspect has been nerfed like crazy.
if they ever add something like this as a permanent mode, i don’t have high hopes if they keep making stupid decisions like they have with this event
This was my second game yesterday, and the worst part is that the previous one (the first game I played yesterday) gave me more points for the mission, even though I only scored 2700 points… I still don’t understand what happened. Just gaijin making all fun to worse, I guess.
This was my first match yesterday.
