Nuclear Thunder!

if that were the case we’re missing Cluster bombs, since SOP was to follow in a Shrike with at least 2 Rockeyes. Also the Cloud layer is far too low(at 2k) to permit proper use of Laser guided bombs, like they should and should be significantly raised.

Also The Convoy SA-8’s are absolute BS being able to book it at what, about ~60km/h or so. It’s really not easy to hit them without using guided ordnance and they will just shoot it down anyway or getting into guns range which is more than difficult enough.

Jesus Christ i’m so tired of this event especially after the score nerfs.

Seriously even the 45k every 2 days is less painful than this bug and Osa fest

I hope they just dont increase the number of points for tasks and nerfing again the way to do points

What?

honestly, why dont they increase the amount of points gained of everything so there are more nukes. after all the mode is named nuclear thunder…

But if they do that then it would be fun and players won’t spend their GE to get the very desired bombers

well you have 4 Weapons at best while the A-7 also has 2 bombs a gun and 9L and is faster so yes i say the A-6 is useless

Absolutely not.

man, this start to feel strange

Ohk, Now that you mentioned it, I do remember seeing something in another website where player discus the poor decision made by gaijin (and other things as well )

Lol. nothing strange, nothing illegal. Power to the community, comrades! LOL

Just take a look on youtube in the comment section, you’ll be surprised.

Convoy can bug into the ground and immune to bomb damage.

And that is why in my latter post i said to use AGM-65 when they are stationary and not moving. They only go inside the ground when they are moving

they can hit moving targets you “just” have to be close enough to get a vehicle lock
like 2-3km third person

You still keep 2 tho. But yea, thanks to gaijin big brain moves you have to resort to this just to gain optimal amount of spawnpoints and event progress

I don’t think there’s any reason for an bmp or bradley to be able to fire at me while i can’t see it even to aim a missile at it ,meanwhile, it fires at me with laser accuracy through 6 trees.

After playing the event since it was released, I’ve noticed something about the F-4E Phantom II - it basically feels like it doesn’t have a radar. Its radar is just pure pulse (no real pulse doppler), and it has no IRST or MTI like the MiG-23 MLD, which is its competitor in the event.

The MiG-23 MLD has both IRST and an MTI like mode, making it much easier to lock onto enemies at low altitude and fire radar guided missiles, while the F-4E struggles a lot with that. The Phantom also suffers heavily from ground clutter, especially at low altitude, often making it hard or impossible to get a lock. Meanwhile, the MiG-23 MLD can much more easily lock you at low altitude and send radar guided missiles your way.

The Phantom in this event just isn’t suited for fighting jets at low altitude, which kind of removes the purpose of its radar missiles, the Sparrows even though they’re very good.

That basically leaves the Phantom relying on AIM-9Ls, which can be flared pretty easily, or just the cannon.

In the end, the Phantom is great for high-altitude combat where its radar actually works properly, but in low-altitude fights - which is what this event mostly turns into - it’s at a clear disadvantage compared to the MiG-23 MLD.

I know the event is ending, but I’m still curious if more people in the War Thunder community feel the same way about the F-4E Phantom II.

Use the F4E as an attacker don’t use it as an fighter.
