Today the event feels soulless, players are trying to win, but it feels boring and slow, either no enemy jets to be seen or they’re camping the airfield. Feels like a zombie event, and there are no zombies! Often we are just waiting for the game to end, as it drags on and on.
As for radar locks, sometimes all I see is the opponent’s aircraft in the big blue sky, and still my radar is blind, cannot see or lock onto any target. This goes beyond ground clutter.
It really is headon/suicide thunder. No one cares about dying in a stupid headon crashing into the corpse of the dead enemy. “MUH I GET 150 SP and some rp”…oh enemy that knows what hes doing has 20 kills…ah thats no problem as long as i make some sl. There needs to be an incentive to stay alive and maybe even land and rearm. Why would you do that atm? crashing and spawning again saves like 5 minutes…
If you would get half, 60 or 70% of the reward now, the rest after succesful return to base now that might be different. But even then. Half the reward for a kill missing? yeah in the time you return to base slow down and land you can take off and get 2 kills. Or lets say half sp now, half on return and personal rewards (SL and RP) are slowly increasing with a multiplier…not excessively but like lets say every minute goes from 1.0 to 1.1 to 1.2 x or whatever makes sense…Sure you could get pretty good multipliers, but the more youd get youd have to play more and more passive.
As it is now its just zoom in right in the middle, never leave the deck and headon after headon. the constant conga line always means you will have 2 to 3 enemies that are faster on your six if you do turn (i still do, not gonna waste 3 aim7fs and 4 aim9gs on f4j but still…why would u in the free planes?) And why would u rtb as soon as youre out of ordinance. If you can just crash or J? not even to deny kills but when theres no one around 10 km or closer, why fly back to base for 5 minutes?
Only thing is: The AIM-7F is so unbelievable easy to defeat. Just do a 180° turn and it lost you. You can’t even reaquire the target as the PD radar of the F-4S/J only works for incoming enemies (HDN). Everything else is invisible to it → No chance to lock on in a chase (except for friendlies for some reason). The AIM-9H you get for this case is flared by a single flare, so no real option there.
I guess we are just forgetting the fact the F-4E is a really good plane, with a higher top speed. In fact you can out run MiG-23s and cause their wings to snap in a F-4E.
Secondly, the MiG-23 only gets a small nuclear warhead. Not a medium one like the F-4E.
3rd of all, the F-4S is a seal club monster…
Lastly, the F-15A, and easy to aquire F-18 premium make it really one sided. Because you cannot buy an advantage for Russia, like you can on the USA side.
Oh, and USA has the only ARH planes. Surprising.
So how is Russia superior in this?
Oh and I think both rewards are appealing.
But the B-52 should probably be a 9.0 instead of an 8.7 tbh.
Definitely need to learn that. I was just going down with nuke and grabbing another lol
Mig 23 nuke runs is the peak part of the mode, trying to dodge the enemy conga line and missiles is great. Just couldnt pull it off in the F4, not even once
F-4E would be more on part with the mig-23 if both sides were able to fly above 1km without being smited by run and gun SPAA.
Right now, the low altitude skimming just defeats the F-4E’s radar and leaves it with 4 aim-9l vs a mig-23 with 4 R-60s and 2 IR R-24s.
It’s just the scenario being forced onto the gamemode.
the only planes I saw above 1km are those that are waiting to fling an IR missile into a furball and dive in without ever coming close to the frontline at that altitude.
and some random su-24 just doing their thing.
Do you have a post in this thread and/or a link you could send me? I would love to integrate anything you have into my “CCRP Spam” I will 100% quote and credit you 👍
I just lob them at the players flying higher than MP. These players are not dodging anything, they go 1 way- forward, they seem to do everything they can to actually head butt the missiles as even if at MP height they leave it lol
My missiles constantly get evaded as the enemies either merge into the furball and then turn back after firing one or two missiles (or enter a circling turn fight where you have no chance to lock on too) or fly high, register the launch warning and start to notch. As the AIM-7F has no IOG it goes absolutely haywire the moment the lock is lost, so even a relock doesn’t get it back on track.
If you go for a full headon confrontation, you get killed by R-24Rs as these are way faster than an AIM-7F so you get killed before your own missile reaches the target even if you fired way earlier than them.
They will both eat the first flare they see.
Mig-23 has the IR R-24 which is better than the AIM-9L but it also adapts better to the floor mopping gamemode.
None are really weak, THEY ARE ON-PAR, if the F-4E beats the mig-23 in more regards, it’s just F-4 is forced to fight the mig-23 in the one thing it loses an edge fighting it.
Theres no tactics and notching. I only leave MP to give the missiles a little lob if at all. which means anyone that isnt on the deck is dead that is trying to shoot back. All my concentration is on not hitting invisible trees/ staying low after i shoot. Feels like monkey gameplay
