Nuclear Thunder!

i have had several games where the russians rush the airfield and none of the aa at our airfield do anything

It’s objectively a fact that the russian planes are being shot at by american AA. Go watch a replay’s sensor view if you don’t believe me.

Yes they do. I have seen lots of people including myself being shot down at an altitude of 10+km by enemy long range SAMs.

usa has much better air to ground, and actual players. they do not need the ability to pay for overpowered aircraft.

love how the USA main base has no AA but the USSR side does

both sides have AA

Warthunder was originally a game about aerial combat in WW2. It’s been around for more than a decade now, and the scope has crept to include naval and armored combat, with vehicles ranging from pre-war tanks and aircraft to modern systems. The way players progress through tech trees somewhat negates the necessity of tutorials for complex in game systems, because they are meant to be introduced gradually to players over hundreds of hours of playtime.

The game’s monetization, however, clashes with this, as advertising primarily shows off modern vehicles. New players rightfully expect to be able to play with the vehicles in the ads, and are disappointed by the fact that they have to work for them in a game they are playing for fun. New players are thus primed for Gaijin to swoop in and offer modern premium vehicles for $70. Echoing somewhat what you’ve said, the learning curve is a learning cliff, and new players thrown into the deep end have a tendency to drown in matches and thus fail to exploit the strengths of their aircraft.

Nuclear Thunder is easily my favorite thing about the game at the moment, but it’s greatest weakness, beyond the current overtuned state of AI controlled IADS, is that it has granted new players, who have not had time to learn systems gradually, access to complex late cold war systems without providing more comprehensive teaching to make up.

The playlist belowshould serve as a bit of a primer for some of the systems you’ll have to contend with while flying late cold-war aircraft. God speed.

That’s kind of insane, now that you’ve pointed it out. Perhaps a Mig-29 with R-73’s and a pair of R-27R/T’s (no ER/ET) available to everyone on red in the top bracket would fix this.

That missile detonated like 50 meters above the bomber (timestamp 0:14). Is that even close enough to trigger the fuse of the missile and isn’t 50 meters a way too high radius of splash damage to be able to rip off the wing of a B-52?

remove all your planes to join lower bracket

Well I got my wish.

The ECM on its own makes it much harder for the missile to track but not impossible.

The Osa is way to overpowered in this gamemode, as in its tracking at low altitude, any plans to nerf its ai?

then dont play it, Realistic is the most played gamemode so of course and when events came it will be in realistic

Go to premium plane which you dont own. Go to protection analyser. Save analyse blk file. Rename in that blk file object and offender object to nt_tu_95m or nt_b_52h. Enjoy.

ok, mate. well done not reading anything i wrote.

You can check this way also other planes:

Just add nt_ into id of planes.

Tbh yesterday, every match i got was at least 2.5 escalation. Not a lot of fun to join an ending match.

complaining about one of the best game modes for the last years because it is realistic it isnt player hating, for now the event has more people playing it then realistic, as for naval i have no idea

what?? i can test fly the nuke in my planes?
