from the rear AIM-9Ls should be launched from about 2km so absolutely
A lot of players are braindead and blind in the gamemode so most of my 9Ls land even at 3+ miles because they legit don’t flare.
Breaking up the BR’s is just going to make it even harder to get into a match. You can be waiting 30 min + to get into one.
I really tried to like this mode but its a exercise in frustration. I guess that is by design so you buy the levels with GE. My own observations are likely duplicates of others but I’m not reading 2,500 pages.
- Minimal skill points earnings with kills (40 for a ground target? Really? 400 or less for air?)
- AAA insanity.
- AAA shooting down HARMS and other cruise missiles before they hit your target.
- Mismatch of aircraft types (IR only Mig 23 vs. F-14s and F-18s).
- You need to get at least 20 or more air kills per game to get the 7700 score. Not available to the average player who is food for everyone else, not to mention the time required.
I’m not going to be food anymore for the Youtubers, tryharders and expert level players. Good luck to those of you that are sticking with this mode.

Best way to farm score is to kill 1-2 players to get the 500 SP nuke, then just nuke airfields and ground units and either RTB or use your aircraft to shoot down players.
This is a YOU issue. Nothing stops you bring out a Yak-141 or MiG-29.
Do something other than A2A kills? Can very easily do the entire star in 2-3 matches

As soon as I discovered the 500 SP nuke I just kept flanking and nuking airfields and got the star in my first 2 matches

Again this is barely possible. It took me 4 tries before one of my air to air missiles could make it through my own team’s missile spam first. I’ve tried various methods of air to ground and I think I hit one target with a KH missile for minor damage. I don’t have 8 hours to keep respawning and dying, hoping to get some kind of breakthrough.
Nice change. Any news about AI AA nerf? Currently they seem to be bit excessively strong.

Don’t charge the enemy head on, you have to play smart and flank. One of the easier ways to farm A2A kills is to just defend airfields.
Yep. 500sp, 30kt, side base spawn NOE burn in the weeds, use map to set target point perfect center of the airfield, then pull and CCRP toss your bomb from a grid square away.
And if you do it right you can cycle and get back into the weeds and save your aircraft, instead of the retard kamekazis I have been seeing in most matches

- Sessions in the event are now split to 2 Battle Rating ranges: “pre-top” 10.3-12.0 and “top” 11.7-13.0.

Do I need to relog for this and update client?
Well you can always switch to the lower BR bracket, but that would mean not being able to use your sealclubber.

Another thing is clearing the way to an airfield before trying to nuke it. I usually do a suicide run in my A-7K and knock out one of the S-300 batteries before I go airfield hunting

The lower bracket is just as bad. They just split the player base in half for a mode that was already hard to get into a match.
