Nuclear Escalation: The Fight Continues!

I wanna see how low (BR) we can go here… B-29 nuke carrier for NE when?

It is dev testing server. Most probably, when the event is available, I’m almost sure they will add free aircraft. The last Nuclear Event had a huge success (many players joined), and I guess it’s because more than half of them didn’t have their own 10.7+ TT aircraft.

It is honestly discouraging that Gaijin needed to “gain inspiration” from another indie game to come up with a new air game mode that has more and meaningfull targets that actually affect the gameflow and whatnot.

Air Rb is badly outdated. And Nuclear Escalation without nukes is the answer. Bombers and ground attackers would actually be useful. Heavy fighters hunting bombers that can actually take out forward airfields??? Fighters actually escorting bombers because there is a reason to do it???
Why is Gaijin so hellbent on not fixing Air RB and instead keeping this exclusively as a limited-time, event game mode?
You have the tool to fix Air RB, Gaijin! Maybe even air arcade.

See, the tornado and its 9 ALARMS would make mincemeat out of that SAM site, pity gaijin won’t let us play it.

However, after actually experiencing it, the nuclear mode in version 13.0+ is nothing but an endless painful cycle of taking off and getting shot down by SAMs. The range of the Buk-M3 directly covers the forward airfield—if you fly over the hill, you get engaged. If it weren’t for ground AA helping me and my teammates intercept, we wouldn’t even be able to get 10km out of the airfield. This mode is just ridiculous, and it gets more ridiculous with every update. It feels like the developers never actually play the modes they create. Right now, NATO simply can’t compete against the Warsaw Pact. Might as well just go back to playing traditional AB and RB.

I think that rewards for shot downed player shoud be rapidely increased considering that CAS/SEAD is considerably easier than air to air fights.

Yeah I don’t know about this, every SAMPT radar gets taken out in the first 45 seconds of the match but the Buks fire on you before you’ve even reached the end of the runway threshold… Meanwhile the frontline SAMs still sit static with their radar off until they magically detect a munition coming. 10 minutes into the game you find yourself with enemies cruising around at 40,000ft over your airfield not even getting shot at.

the ground map would need to be so much more detailed for that and that would mean it’d probably end up with a small playable area anyways

M192 (I-HAWK), M901 (Patriot), IRIS-T SLM (LS), 9A310 (“Buk”), 9A317M (“Buk M3”), 5P58SE (S-300), SM-90 (S-75), SV 15t (Land Ceptor) (Sky Sabre), SAM-4 (Type 03) (launcher), HQ-11, ACTL SM 88.45 BAD (MLT) (SAMP/T) [ITA], Kerax 460 (MLT) (Mamba SAMP) [FRA], SPYDER AiO:
AI missile interception: attack range: 20 → 80 km

i dont even have words.

besides that i am regretting ever spending money in this game

if he existed i would have more confidence in Walter White from braking bad running an addict support group than gaijin fixing the game (has in core structure not even ghost shells and other bugs)

CAS/SEAD is the main point of the mode

Trueee
I really wanted to test the ALARMs out because I thought the GR.1 would get them but oh well, at least I do have a reason to spade the GR.4 now
Hopefully the reports with them will go through

Ideally, the mode supports all playstyles to a certain degree

Yes it is. But it doesnt mean that rewards for air-air kills have to be completelly useless considering the needed effort for that. Same thing for anti ships operations.

No you dont understand. Everything must be equally unviable.

Has gaijins success story that is heli ec.

Its so bad, that spawning in ground RB and just fly into the enemy(getting a hit or two). And then instantly moving on to the next game is a better alternative

Which is a win in gaijin books. For them its better to give everyone a horrible experience(including team mates which have a useless one death leaver on the team) than having people playing PvE

After playing for a few days, I can say that Gaijin, you successfully destroyed this mode
Not only did you guys restrict the Storm GR4 and Germany’s Storm IDS from joining this mode, but your AI is way too overpowered and totally unbalanced. The Su-30 can carry six KH31PD missiles and rush to 10,000 meters at nearly Mach 2, while NATO’s F-18E, which carries the most AGM-88 missiles, can only slowly crawl at low altitude at just over Mach 1. Yes, I use creeping mode—this is what they call a super worm. Might as well call it a super worm. The Su-30 can destroy all NATO long-range radars and the FSAF SAMP30 radar vehicle in its first salvo. NATO players can only be beaten down by the BUKs and S1s at low altitude, because your AGM88, GBU64/39/53, and AGM65 can’t break through the air defense network made up of 3-4 S1 and 2S6 Armor units, and they have to dodge three to four interceptors fired by one person. Yes, your AI-controlled BUK fires 3-4 interception rounds for every NATO player and their ammunition, with no reload intervals. Even if NATO players’ AGM88s managed to break through and knock out the armor, it wouldn’t help, because the BUK was still there, wildly firing missiles at everything flying on the map that wasn’t on their side. I even saw the BUK’s missiles intercepting FSAF SAMP 30 missiles, while the FSAF SAMP wouldn’t react to the kh-31pd at all. The frontline ITO90M couldn’t handle the kh-38s launched by the su-30. Oh, by the way, BUK’s troubles aren’t limited to their unlimited ammunition and super interception desire. NATO’s FSAF SAMP lost its long-range radar and its own radar vehicle, and even after losing its long-range radar and radar vehicle, the BUK still had its own radar. This means NATO air defenses can be disabled with just a few rounds of the KH31, requiring several times the AGM-88 with the KH31 to completely destroy the BUK.S1 air defense network. This basically means NATO loses their air defense right from the start, while NATO’s chances are forced low by the BUK and then killed by the S1. This pattern is extremely unbalanced, as NATO’s AGM88s are frequently intercepted while the KH31PD is rarely intercepted, and the ground-attack munitions on both sides are completely unbalanced. The SU-30 can launch the supersonic Kh-38 from 20 kilometers away, while NATO can only use the slow GBU bomb and launch the AGM-65, which both are slowed. At the same time, the AI air defense on both sides is completely different. The air defense system organized by the BUK and S1 is completely inpenetrable for NATO in the game, while NATO’s air defense network composed of FSAF SAMP and ITO90M is completely destroyed in less than 10 minutes after the first 10 minutes

Agree with all what was wrote here. I didnt played NATO side but from Soviet side this is exactly how went every single battle. We literally decimated whole long range NATO AA defense in first few minutes by Kh-31PD.

Is it still the case after the missile intercept range buff 20->80km?

I will test that when I will be back from work.

I don’t have top tier on planes, can I play?
