The next significant issue, which also significantly disrupted the balance between sides, was the operation of the long-range air defense and the weapon capabilities of the “blue” and “red” sides (the Kh-31 issue). Even after all the adjustments to the long-range SAM system composition, the balance was still far from ideal, and only a change in the team sizes ultimately improved the balance. However, we considered this solution a last resort, as it was ill-suited for a continuous ongoing mode.

Maybe if you presented midfield targets instead of making the only targets plausible for pact players the long range options, we wouldn’t have ended up here. But it’s easier to make DEAD gameplay worthless by kneecapping everyone’s AA than fixing the technical deficiencies.

We haven’t even been provided ESM. They’re not going to bother to resolve these deficiencies, because this mode is being sold to the American and Russian, not the rest of us.

Seeing as the Nuke mode features kinda alot of Naval Targets (compared to SB/ARB), can we exspect to see more Anti Ship Missiles such as the AS.34 Kormoran, beeing spread to more planes and not only the Tornado MFG?

Would be nice if we could recreate such Loadouts in game featuring HARM and AS.34 Kormoran

What was meant was that the Escalation mission involves a huge number of objects—hundreds of units and airborne ammunition. The location itself is also the largest in WT—256x256 km. Yes, the active combat zone is smaller, but in one of the future Escalation locations, the combat zone will occupy a larger portion of the map than it currently does.

This is a good addition, cause in the last NT mode, the bombs and other guide munitions will get intercepted, after entering the range of SAM.
Will this also include for future additions of modern air to ground weapons like JASSM, KH59mk2, SCALP, Stormshadow and Taurus ?

So, we implemented self-defense algorithms for the SAM system against anti-radiation missiles, which equalize the effectiveness of slower and faster anti-radar missiles during long-range launches. It works like this: if the SAM system’s AI detects a target with certain characteristics (speed, altitude, heading) within a certain range, it can decide to disable the radar for a period of time, which will result in the missile missing. The range simulates the system’s response time to the threat; i.e., a long-range launch leaves the SAM system enough time to assess the threat and disable the radar, while short-range launches (as the “blue” team had to do to suppress the “red” team’s air defenses) remain effective. Furthermore, during a long-range launch, even a brief radar shutdown is enough for the missile to accumulate a critical guidance error, and reactivating the radar will not result in the missile re-acquiring the SAM system.

Can’t wait for this monkey’s paw to curl. We will see weapons that require extended range launches like ALARM or Kh31s being defeated flawlessly due to AI omniscience.

Somewhat off topic but somewhat related with nuclear escalation being a SEAD/DEAD mode. Are there plans to continue adjusting ESM in the short term future? ESM so far falls a good bit short of how it is IRL, so I’m hoping it will be expanded on /changed more, sooner than later.
