Northrop XB-35 | A Answer to the United States Dilemma

The fact that they actually build these, and more than 1 makes it all the better. We need this deadly dorito. I will stab the inside of the mouth of many Milf 15s.

Give me daddy Dorito!

Also, one question? What is a Tail Stinger?

Its a aerodynamic turret on the rear of the aircraft. It was known as a Tail Stinger due to its shape.

Oh okay. So does it work almost like what the turret on the fokker does?

I don’t know for sure but here’s a diagram of the internals.

I had seen that in the suggestion, but was too stupid to zoom in on the tail. I still don’t quite understand it but thanks for trying

10 billion percent YES, the XB-35 has been on my wishlist for literal years. Take my +1, if I could give more I would!

Hell yeah, would be the arguably best heavy bomber in the game and a perfect fit between the B-29 (or B-50 if it comes) and the ultimate bomber, the B-36B.

People really saying 6.0-6.7 💀

No offense, but this is the ultimate bomber:

One step at a time. We are getting close.

It seems to work more like a swivel arm:

+1 I wrote the original proposal for this on the old forums. I would love to see it in War Thunder, especially with it’s massive defensive armament.

Yes and No. Yes in terms of what it looks like in the film. But no because it took inspiration from multiple designs including a WW2 Horten Design.

However, similar designs were the XB-35 and YB-49.

Other than it being a delta flying wing design, I do not see the direct resemblance at all. I believe they were purely referencing the XB-35 and YB-49. Which is a shame that they did not use the 6 engines Horten XVIIIA or the less aerodynamically smooth Horten XVIIIB revision.

They weren’t apparently. A lot of inspiration came from the Horten H.XVIII. Considering it was inspiration, don’t really expect theme to keep the design looking really at all similar in appearance to the Horten XVIIIA, since many movie props may have been inspired from irl but look nothing like what they were inspired by.

love flying wings! +1000000000000000000000000000000000000000+++++++++

With how GJ is currently implementing bombers it’s not hard to assume that we will get this amazing plane in BP few years in to the future. I love flying wings and this one is the most beautiful of them plus it would be pretty good considering current state of bombers.
