Nah make it make sense
It is possible to have a discussion on stuff without insulting people you know?
Anyways, yeah it would make CAS more convenient, but aside from like spices being able to ripple off weapons faster isnt that large of an actual performance gain. If anything it would more so help a lot of the lesser used CAS options like SDBs to be more viable.
Anti-air does need a bit of help, and while this wouldnt exactly help the situation, its also not like this is the problem thats pushing it over an edge.
Honestly. I think fixed wing CAS could actually do with some reasonable buffs. Helis are brokenly OP at the moment, but a lot of fixed wing CAS… Isnt actually doing that well imo on average
Would argue more specifically 2 helis are brokenly op, the rest are pretty kneecapped. Would have been brought to parity with MitL but not anymore.
Yes and no. Yes those with long ranged FnF and DIRCM are perticuarly broken. But its driven me nuts for years that a hovering heli is just invisible to radar and immune to SARH or ARH.
That’s not brokenly op, that’s just broken lol
It does need to be addressed. It’s just inaccurate.
No,cas doesn’t need to get more convenient. Its called grb for a reason. Sdbs can already be used with the target designation point. Just use the already existing mechanic.

Meh, and again, not everything is about GRB, lowkey im asking this feature more for ARB lmao.
It is frustrating seeing aircraft be handicapped in terms of loadout, equipment or mechanics based solely upon tanks in another gamemode.
What War Thunder could be without GRB.
Alternatively: What war thunder could be with GRB updated alongside the introduction of new weapons to provide adequate countermeasures
Instead of y’know. Being left to rot and used as an excuse to kneecap the rest.
Even then. A2G loadouts would always be limited. Look at Tornado GR1, ASSTA1 and IDS (1995) for example.
I would argue it would be unnecessary, but that is an argument for another day if Gaijin ever bother to pull their thumb out regarding the topic.
F-16’s with the ALQ-213 HTS Rev 7 can too.
and the AH-64D and later variants too with the APR-48 cuing the radar.
Do you mean no sources or no implementation?
Updated with 1 more poll to see how people would want it to be implemented; for how tight they want the restrictions on such implementation to be.
Ie, whether they want ESM platform with proven slaving capabilities to be able to slave all weapons to it, or only ones with proven compatability, etc.
With no implementation, theres plenty of sources for their usage of it.
Do you know where this slide came from?
Doesn’t the “multi-ship techniques” part mean that the F-16’s ALQ-213 HTS Rev 7 require multiple aircrafts to help triangulate enemies versus single ship geolocation that was mentioned in the ALR-67(v)3 screenshot above?
It can do both, having multiple detectors allows it to occur much faster, as you otherwise need a sustained contact to refine a reference point, whereas with multiple aircraft working together you may only need a single spike to reach something that would be useful to a weapon.
Since all it’s doing is crossreferencing ownship location and the multiple Time Difference of Arrival measures.

Also normally a targeting pod would be able to be cued by the contact to allow for it to be assessed, which can organically refine a point of interest.
