Except they have endorsed datamining.

Source - Reddit R/WarThunder - Heads up on Vrom and blk format changes for data miners.

If datamining wasn’t something they endorsed they wouldn’t have given literal instructions on changes to how it works and how to update the tools people use, they even asked people to let dataminers know about this change as quote - “who would find this useful”. And they certainly would have found a way to put a stop to the datamining or even stop adding files to live when they are in internal testing.

Next leaker should just say they have clairvoyance and don’t know anything about reading the files.

And magically they turn out to be right

4 years old Reddit post. Got anything newer?

Thanks but Im already aware of “presumably” A.I Gen since this PP come out.

Problem is, ever since last year specifically, Gaijin has been getting a lot of heat from the playerbase concerning Chinese vehicles, subtrees, Japan, etc.

I imagine if it wasn’t for the leaks Gaijin would make Singapore a Chinese subtree, for example

The fact that Gzsabi’s datamines for each client update has been going for years, if they were completely against it they would have put a stop to it.

As far as I know tho only Olivia has received a C&D letter from Gaijin / has been allowed to make a statement about the situation. And she is the one who is responsible for all the infantry leaks.

All the other vehicles like the thai VT4, Taiwanese M1A2 and Singaporean Leo 2 have been leaked by Gszabi and the like but they haven’t made any statements yet.

I mean yes, it could be that they wanna get rid of a bunch of the controversies surrounding leaks but maybe sth is going wrong with the development of the infantry mode and they wanna create another back door in case they scrap it and in gaijin fashion don’t say anything.

Just speculation tho as always

I think it was a just a statement of “hey, dont take datamines as gospel, there is a lot of random junk in their and just because it is doesnt mean its planned for the game”

I mean, Snail will have to forgive me, but isn’t that a given anyway with Datamines?

So just as a bit of clarification here, the information datamined by Olivia wasn’t the issue, but presenting it as leaks was?

So it would be allowed if it was clearly communicated as only datamined content?

Not too all I guess

Imagine how many of this reaction we would see right now

It sounds like while they don’t like datamining, they absolutely don’t like it when people make speculations or state datamined developments as something factual.

I’m guessing Gaijin was tired of getting heat for things that technically wasn’t releasd yet

but why release a whole trailer “confirming” a test in the near future and then treat the discussion this harshly

According to this datamined content isn’t forbidden, presenting it as factual “leaked” additions is. This also seems to only reference new datamined content, such as the infantry related files, rather than stuff like Gszabi’s update changes, so that seems safe in general.

And this seems to suggest that guesses and speculation based on that info, ex. “Infantry might be added to to infantry related files”, is also allowed, as long as it’s not falsely presented as a fact.

So to sum it up, Olivia wouldn’t break any of these rules by continuing, just not call any of it leaks. I don’t know if the C&D had any other instructions, but just from this public statement it seems that shouldn’t be an issue, so at the very least someone else can pick up where she left off.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t just talk to her then.
