Balance-wise that would make sense, but that wouldn’t be realistic or historical, sadly
APHE straight up can’t have as much pen as full AP
Like…How does a shell with an internal cavity can have more pen as a shell without ?!
Unless i’m missing something major about how shells interact with armor
Not happening because people voted against it. And honestly, as much as i support the idea of an APHE rework i can also see it being another case of overpressure and volumetric where its half baked and never really works properly and is just generally worse than what we had before.
APHE doesn’t work like it does in game. it explodes as part of the initial penetration it is not delayed
AP and APHE have similar penetration IRL the issue is AP should create as much spall as an appropriately modelled APHE.
Ultimately Gaijin asked the community and they all voted against it no surprises that the 3 largest player bases all use APHE…Russian, German and USA
It’s pish now though and ruins the low tier experience
Solid shot is a massive disadvantage
Infact gaijin insist that French autoloaders using only solid shot should be 7.7!
I’m kinda getting to the point where I just don’t care about the APHE crutch anymore, but we definitely need hullbreak back
I hate how bad HESH still is
Also, off topic, but why do my SRAAMs keep self destructing right after launch bruh
Probably just a joy of a new update
Honestly yeah, its incredibly annoying how survival certain light tanks can be. I cant tell you how many times i have shot a BMD,XM-800T, AFT-09, wiesel or something similar only to have my shell get eaten by an internal component or just staight up bounce off. Also the new modules made a whole bunch of vehicles more survivable then they were before.
I mean… they are also 7.7 because they are genuinely incredibly good vehicles for their BR. Like if your struggling to use the Lorraine 40t or Somua SM idk what to tell you.
French solid shot at that BR is very good and the autoloaders are very powerful assets to have
They definitely deserve their BRs
You wanna edit that so I can read what you were trying to say?
Lorraine is good the gun and ammo are not, having a tiger 2 side armour bounce a 100mm ap is beyond annoying or an IS2 yes that shytey tank that US Shermans popped for fun in Korea bouncing an Amx 50 120mm AP.
Since the volumetric change AP is significantly worse than it should be
Oh yeah my favorite part about the new modules is that the 2S38 which is one of the primary vehicles that caused people to ask for them in the new modules in the first place only got buffed. It didnt get nerfed or become worse like people thought it would.
And they are slowly adding them to planes now too which is just the biggest slap in the face since they dont model redundant systems at all so things like the A-10, Su-25 and F/A-18 which are the only things that have it get punished even harder. But dont worry i am sure they will add them to things like the Rafale, Eurofighter and F-15 just like they did with all the MBTs finally.
Oh wait…
My favourite application of the module system is on helis which in turn are instantly fully incapacitated from just a single 7.7mm bullet penetrating them
Meanwhile the Ka-50/52 still is an unkillable menace
Except Gaijin were never really against leaks/datamines in the way that Olivia did it. They even had a CM make a post when they changed formats of the files and said that they’d only punish those who make malicious code. This was really out of the blue.
Leaks from the last few days is just Su-30MKK/MK2 for China.
Olivia also got hit with a cease and desist. No more Ponder :(
I didn’t follow the leaker community that closely, so I don’t know much about the background
What I do know is that leaking data in broad daylight is risky business
Not for WT.
From Olivia’s statement,
“Apparently they do not like the posting of the content of vromfs files anymore because that is where I got all my info. This is a file format for which gaijin provides tools to read and in the past has given permission to post the content of. As far as I know there has been no public retraction of this previously stated permission.”

Really have no idea why they have done this other than that they think Olivia has Insiders or something?
Risky maybe, but also not something Gaijin benefits from stopping.
Leaks provide useful feedback for Gaijin on things they aren’t entirely committed to and can still work on or change. Intentional or not, they help Gaijin a lot.
Mate, I’m not saying that it is unusual for Gaijin to do so or that there was a high chance of this happening
What I am saying is that there always has been a possibility of Gaijin stepping in to circumvent leaks
On a side note, data mining files that have been released to the public and leaking data that isn’t available to the public are very different things.
I hope players and Gaijin like having broken vehicles.
Bug reporters cannot do the heavy lifting if they do not know what is coming in advance.
