The T-84 isn’t really a good example since it is a further development of the T-80
Honestly i think of potential candidates for a USSR subtree Belarus is probably the least controversial option. Not that they need one of course but ultimately gaijin will do what gaijin wants so like… meh I already have the entire USSR tree done anyways so Personally i am fine with them adding whatever at this point as long as its interesting and not another T-80 or T-72 baring some super specific variants.
Sometimes I do wonder that soviet constructors were drinking… or consumed in general
Idk what it is but man i could use some it would probably help with this cold lmao…
Well the original poster I was replying to was talking about Czech vehicles with unique modifications. I assume those would mostly fall under 1 and 2 though of course the Czechs did develop the L-39 indigenously which would be most like the T-84 in this comparison. (I should note that if Gaijin ever added some kind of independent Czech tech tree or a Czech subtree, that Czech vehicles should be duplicated/added there from that point onward)
An example of a unique vehicle would be the Saudi Lightning that’s in the game. It’s different from the tech tree version of the Lightning, but we don’t need to say that GB gets a whole Saudi subtree just to have it.
There are also of course the “support nations” that are not technically subtrees but tend to show up alongside one nation-- Argentina is the best example of this. But that’s digressing.
My main point is that the USA and USSR don’t need subtrees because of the sheer volume of vehicles they have to draw on, but unique vehicles that don’t have a better place to go could and should go to those nations when applicable. Of course, I also believe Gaijin should work towards finding as many better places for vehicles as possible, whether that’s subtrees or independent nations.
Wouldn’t some middle-eastern nations also make sense? There are a lot of T series tanks rolling about there.
But is a full Sub-TT really needed for that?
If they are just T-Series tanks, then they’ll just go wherever makes sense, without a home for one of those said nations, that would be the soviets.
The issue is the other stuff imo.
Take India for Britain. Jaguar, Gnat, Hawk, Canberra, Sea Harrier etc etc. All fine, no issue, but a Sub-TT was not needed, as they are all export. But T-90, Mig-21, Rafale, Su-30, etc etc. Could only come as part of a Sub-TT and its those that are imo, controversial.
So Soviets getting variants of their own stuff is fine, can happen already, but the issue is does the soviet really need Czech Leoaprds and Gripens for example
It’ll be uninteresting until we get newer vehicles like the Object 195, Object 477 and Armata.
Maybe a small sub tree for Serbian vehicles at this point as Belarus doesn’t add anything new (no way someone finds something like the T-72BM2 new) except a few cars and maybe something like the 2T Stalker.
My techtree solution:
Remove them
And ofc all the unique vehicles… dont forget those, even if the snail does ;)
I would say having a couple of the Middle East nations in the USSR tree wouldnt hurt too much pending which ofc, with a couple of export vehicles they used for unique bits of fun/filling a specific gap.
(I will always advocate a Yemeni Strikemaster for the USSR, I need my Strikemaster in all TTs! xD also have that potential historical fear of the Omani that caused them to buy Strikemaster themselves and have strikemaster duels!)
If the Su-35 comes to China, the J-10C would be practically pointless. Many players want the J-10C because it’s a domestically produced and unique Chinese aircraft with unique weaponry, and because it shot down some French batguettes. Leave the Su-35 for Russia to correct some of the problems still present in the Su-30SM. The J-10C is simply perfect for China, both as the first AESA radar and for new weaponry like the PL-15 (if the leak is correct). Then the Su-35 can come later.
Yes, though there is still an arugment to made whether a Sub-TT is needed for those though.
Like for example ADATS for Britain. Coming from Canada.
Canada isnt a sub-TT. If its unique to that country, it could go anywhere.
though… being a strikemaster, the UK would be the first choice for its placement
At which point maybe being a Sub-TT would be needed?
“How many modern vehicles and weapons should the USSR receive?”
ALL

Teaser today? ;)

The J-10C will be outright better than the Su-35 what are you on about??
The reason we are asking for it is variety in chinese air, aince gaijin seems very hesitant to add modern chinese flankers, so in the meantime we can get whatever the russians do alongside some domestic gap filling (J-10C) in order to give them time to model & find info about the J-15/16 so we don’t end up with another J-11A situation, where they just made up half the jet’s characteristics
