its correct as far as war thunder goes, it doesnt model how engines thrust works at different altitudes, but as far as war thunder goes it seems as accurate as the high effort aircraft go.
you know what the real thrust of the AL-31FP is, with all the losses, in different modes. With turbine cooling turned on and off ?
we dont need to for war thunders sake, though im pretty sure by now most of the data on al-31fp should be easily available with a bit of searching.
Before the aircraft was drastically overperfoming, now with the most recent devserver if the numbers provided by @D4nger_CLO5E were accurate its by most sources underperfoming by 7% on full afterburner(11600kgf instead of 12500kgf). when the update releases we’ll see some proper testing. now are you guys goin to actually try to have a discussion, not to mention that engine thrust will not change, as we already have the engine ingame, gajin reasoning being (Community Bug Reporting System)
That mod is also the sm2 variant unfortunately we’re not getting the better engines that one has, also it’s a mod and DCS TVC is a bit funky. you can tell when you get a kill on the su30 it goes into a spiral at Mach Jesus, the tvc is there but its implementation due to how DCS does its FM is wacky
In addition to the loss in the air intake, losses along the engine path and in the nozzle must be taken into account. And the Gaijin have them wrong
give the Su30 a buff? that is very wishful thinking, and nerfing the hornet? LMAO maybe the finnish one but never the U.S one
you wont belive it
all the flanker variants are able to wingstall and flatspin
thanks gaijin
for those who care this is the cause of it:
this can be done if you turn off FBW.
like idk it just feels bad,
for example i pulled a cobra and the flanker wing-stalled
and it is even worse for the su30 because when you wingstall it the plane just becomes completly unresponsive to roll and yaw inputs
my theory is that the game tries to counteract the stall with tvc and that just locks the plane up for some reason
Currently the Su 30 appears to try to enter a hover (like harriers) if you’re pulling vertical at low enough speed for me, triggers the message for hover unavailable (presumably because thrust vectoring). Is anyone else experiencing this? Heavily reduces input effectiveness.
After discussion, conclusion is there is some hold over given how the behaviour represents, it is reported here:
