New Location: Attica!

So when will a new mission for GRB will drop? Ten year of the same three caps.

I wonder why… I really hope that the area behind the northern and southern spawns aren’t redlined out of existence, otherwise they will be incredibly easy to spawn camp/trap. The relative openness is concerning as well, imo (edit: openness of the caps relative to the surrounding areas, making it hard to actually cap but easy to deny caps, making comebacks harder).

Did WoT make that map before MW 2016? Because I swear that’s a super similar layout to the paintball map.

New map looks good but man I wish we have more open and big maps like how WT used to do…
Fighting small corridors does not benefit anything but certain type of vehicle, leaving the others in great pain…

I do see 3 main roads. 1 per base. Officially start of the MOBA gamemode in WT with a single lane version? :P

I like what I see!

Spawn-to-spawn firing doesn’t seem possible, it’s a rural enviornment yet with fairly variable terrain, and… whoa, some of those screenshots look pretty much real, hahah.

My favourite part so far is that it’s not a city, but it’s not a plain field either. These kinds of rural terrains are my favourite kinds of map. I look forward to trying it out soon!

That too, lol. It’s like if you took Campania and trimmed it down.

Other areas that would probably also work with map sizes like that (distance done with google maps):

The Danish island of Funen, it is ~75km across

The Swedish Island of Gotland, it is ~170km from north to south.

Luxemburg, ~100km from north to south

Schwarzwald, has a length of around ~160km

Corsica, is ~180km from north to south

Guam, is ~65km from north to south

Rhodes, is ~80km long

The Straight of Gibraltar would also be a good contender for an air map, since its minimum width is ~14km across.

Woukd make a really good naval map

I can’t wait to try it out! Looks really cool :)
On first glance it looks like a better laid out “El Alamein” but with the feel/look/setting of “Carpathians” sort of.

Edit:
Could we get to know what BR range it’s currently planned for? and edge to edge size?

Hellas from WOT. Probably one of the best maps you could have cloned ngl

DX12? Ray Tracing? DLSS? New physics on some things and now a new ground map?

Stop cooking so hard! (Don’t stop, please keep it up) <3

I am hoping for large scale and full BR range. Tired of fighting in cities.

I’d love a smaller, early BR brackets-friendly version of Denmark (lots of islands, carrier aircraft having a meaningful role, actually working ground battles and air superiority objectives unlike dover straits) themed around the pacific campaign for authentic zero on wild/hellcat and corsair experience. (plus naval spits)

Just studied it a bit. Judging from the size of the amphiteatre, it’s going to be tiny, and it’s set up in a way that it makes zero sense to bring anything for longer ranges. I guess engagement distance may be 400 meters max.

That’s a bit sad :( So i’m guessing this is probably for lower to mid BR then.
I mean, it’s always nice with newer maps, it’s just that there already is a lot of smaller ones while the big maps are so few.

Nope. 2020

Someone on Reddit noticed the similarity of the Theatre of Epidaurus to the amphitheatre on the map. Their calculations were a bit imprecise, so I did my own analysis. Based on the dimensions of real amphitheatre - 119 m in diameter, the entire map measures 1800m x 1800m, and the playable area is approximately 1300m x 1300m.

The blue circle above the amphitheatre is 119m in diameter, the blue rectangles on the right are 100m long, the blue square is a possible playable area.

Battle area in Domination mode is 1600x1600m.

Excellent news!

Currently, some maps are so small that the spawns are barely 900m apart, which is horrible at Top Tier…

This map is even more appealing after learning this!
