aww hell no, you get the BAE Scout and Patria with the 40mm
Don’t touch ma precious 2S38 contender :(
Xddddd
I prefer 50mm, bigger, better and stronger
What about the Mbombe 8 with the AU-220M turret? It has the 2S38 turret but on a more mobile chasis and it fires bias like the 2S38, so fight bias with a little less bias
Rooikat Sam🤷♂️
Yup, the Warrior that we did literally send to Afghan and the non APFSDS which we sent to Iraq, so we would get the actual war proven variant in game, not the very first production model with only the thermal upgrade package😂
The ingame Warrior is a 1991-2005 model as it has the MILAN post installed for Gulf War 1, are you (mentally) prepared to downgrade to TI2 BGTI without the TI3 Catherine sensor? Or NV3 PE Raven?
Only adding Warrior TES(H)/OES3 with TI3 would make that bitter pill swallowable.
The Warrior in Game shouldn’t even have the Milan, they only gave it to us as they needed an excuse to put it at 8.3 besides the Thermals, a warrior with only a cannon at 8.3 would have been ridiculous and it would have then too OP if it was any lower, if we got the Desert Warrior we would have 2 Tow missiles similar to the Bradley which are pretty good anyways
It’s caught in a Catch 22 there, its AFV triangle is middling other than speed and the TI stops it from going any lower.
Personally I’d be alright with two generations of Warrior, one with NV3 and MILAN 2 and one with TI3, WRAP2, and no missile. BR would have to be adjusted and I’m feeling 8.0 might be alright, maybe even for both.
I agree, Wrap 2 being the upgrade from base Fv510 to TES(H), it also provides a massive suspension upgrade, improving the gun handling and making it slightly more stable for firing on the move, also it still retains its 2nd Gen thermals
The suspension and braking upgrades I know little about, I’d need some book money first but these things are rarely replicated with any degree of accuracy.
Yes TI2 in 2005 with BGTI and then TI3 in 2009/10 with the Catherine sensor upgrade, could be 2 mutually-exclusive stages of Modification eg. TI2 @ Lvl2, TI3 @ Lvl4.
I believe Lv4 is the 25mm bushmaster variant isn’t it, with the Lav cannon and the stabiliser
I think every British Main would agree the best course of action would be two separate vehicles due to the comeplete and utter lack of top tier content besides challenger, the 25mm and its varying upgrades and modules and the WRAP2/TES(H) with different researchable upgrade Modules possibly even with its APFSDS round and maybe an export variant even as a premium
Just doing some research, I found that later warriors had been fitted with Javelin missiles, and seeing as we already have a tank with a fire and forget missile(Spike) a javelin wouldn’t be that far fetched, also it would give the Warrior better range capability aswell as being able to defeat more armour incase gaijin wanted to move it up to 9.0-9.3 ish
The dismounts were given javelins, they weren’t attached to the vehicle in any way.
The warrior was not added with thermals, that was a later addition based on a bug report. Gaijin added the warrior in its Granby configuration and really shouldn’t have thermals at all.
With the new vehicles passed to the Devs, we can see that the Patria AMV has been passed on to devs in the form of the Lockheed Martin UK 40mm variant with the CSP turret, this is the turret used on the Ajax which means we may see the Boxer and Ajax in game in the future which will be nice
Edit: Or they could just straight up give us warrior 2/CSP
They were mostly for the sake of reliability and improved service life rather than trying to get an increase in performance.
Brake failures when trying to stop up-armoured Warriors moving at speed on Telic became commonplace. Crews were being told not to exceed a certain speed to avoid putting the vehicle in a situation where the brakes might fail dangerously, but since WR mostly operated on roads in Iraq there was a proposal to govern the engine and outright prevent the vehicle attaining a speed where it would be unable to stop. Can’t remember the exact speed the vehicles were supposed to be limited to, but IIRC it was some way below 35mph.
So the TES(H) mod was to mitigate the brakes simply not working because the vehicle was too heavy.
Up-rating the suspension was also a factor in making the brakes more reliable but also mitigate other problems caused by adding several tons of armour, bowman and ECM. Namely reduced service life for running gear components: For several tracked vehicles operating in Afghanistan, stuff like track pins snapping, roadwheels cracking etc. happened well before they would normally be due replacing in the maintenance schedule.
A turret that’s used of the Warrior 2 / CSP. Ajax is being made by GD
Lockheed provided the turret for both Warrior CSP and Ajax
The Patria AMV demonstrator has the Warrior CSP productionturret on top of it while the Boxer demonstrator had a modified version of the prototype Scout-SV/Ajax turret on it

Modifications basically amounted to removing the panoramic sight and stretching the armour down vertically to cover the raised turret ring of the boxer module. Plus the Javelin launcher on the side.
